That’s kind of like turning off the global water supply, which negatively affects everyone, just to make the person pouring the water earn more, even though it would lead to higher costs for everyone who drinks it.
Seems like there may be some better alternative ideas to accomplish both ends of this? - Like Taxing the uber rich, or unionizing which would actually allow for these negotiations to happen.

Are people claiming that (i) this was a staged text conversation between the two of them that was intended to clear his partner; (ii) the text conversation this was fabricated by law enforcement in order to secure a conviction; or (iii) the text conversation was fabricated by the media (or law enforcement) for a political reason?
(i) seems possible. (ii) and (iii) don't seem at all likely. (ii) seems completely unnecessary in order to get a conviction. (iii) seems inconsistent with a desire to push an unambiguous narrative about the shooter's politics.
