2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Did I miss something with Troy Franklin? Was All-In on Nix but assumed it would be Sutton and Mims doing the damage.
You missed me talking about him all summer. You might have missed post 9672. Troy Franklin is a huge miss for the fantasy community. I had 40% of him in DFS yesterday when he was being played by less than 1% of people. I tried to inform folks in here but nobody wanted to listen. The problem is too many people are dependent on sims and over analyze based on statistics. They fail to look outside of their world of numbers and see what's actually happening. They idolize their favorite internet influencers who unfortunately supply them with incomplete information. What the average fantasy football players watch/listen to on YouTube or on podcasts is generic information. What ends up happening is a fantasy hive mind is created based off what just a few individuals have to say. The problem with this information is that it is narrative driven. Unfortunately these narratives aren't questioned by the hive. In the case of Troy franklin there were a couple narratives. One was "He must suck since he fell from being a possible first rounder to the fourth round". The second narrative that is still being pushed even after his big game yesterday is that "The Broncos have too many weapons so you never know who will have a good day". I've got news for you all. Troy leads this team in targets, catches, yards and TD's through the first two games. He had 6 targets and 4 catches in a horrific game one by Bo. He had 9 targets and 8 catches yesterday. Courtland Sutton was second with 4 targets. What has happened is the Broncos other weapons are all over rated. Mims is good but he is never gonna be the guy. Harvey will get it going but not until later in the year. Engram is fine but not great. Bryant will be good but it will be a slow process.
Here is the lesson. Don't fall into the trap of believing all narratives. The other free square I was getting was Keenan Allen in the last round all summer. The hive narrative was "He's washed" "If he was any good he would have been signed by now". My thoughts were I'm getting him in the last round when he will eventually be going in round 12 once signed and will probably out produce this draft slot. While people were taking Tahj Brooks, and Ollie Gordon and other zeros I was taking guys who would be contributing right away and had upside.
I will be sprinkling in Troy Franklin and T Thornton to my lineups. Both are cheap and both are due to to hook up with their QB's for a long TD. Troy had 6 targets week one but Bo was trash. Thornton had 3 deep balls thrown to him and caught one. As long as Worthy is out he is a great play. I just hope they aren't too highly owned.
Troy had less than one percent ownership in DFS. Thornton had a little over 1% ownership. This would have been the biggest money maker of a post if anybody actually listened. I made money.
Every ****ing year with this guy.
Have Fields as a qb in a yahoo 1 qb league. Looking to grab a replacement. Who do we like of these available qbs? 4pt passing tds, standard scoring for all passing categories.
Trevor Lawrence
Russell Wilson
Stafford
Darnold
Penix
Flacco
Ward
Leaning Lawrence or Stafford.
Thoughts?

I’d be streaming at that point. Penix plays Carolina, Darnold plays NO
Those would be my choices given the other matchups
Starting Troy Franklin and winning by less than 1 point. Me Smart!
Dynasty league where we don’t set lineups each week but we play heads up matchups each week (so it’s kinda HU best ball) and start 1 QB + superflex.
My QBs: Lamar, baker, Bryce, Tyler shough, will howard (IR)
How much would you bid on Carson wentz? I’m assuming he’s playing at least a few weeks so I’d have 4 possible starting QBs for the next 3 weeks instead of my current 3 to fill QB & superflex each week.
I’m dropping one of Damien Martinez, Jaleel McLaughlin, or jahan Dotson.
What do you guys think of Troy Franklin's value in redraft? Do you think he is playable/startable at all or is he a better best ball play? Also, what about Wandale? Russ can't just throw to Nabors, so Wandale will get targets. I just wonder if he will continue to get the downfield throws. The deep ball is Russ's specialty, so I hope he continues to bomb away.

This post is giving me some nostalgic waterwolves vibes. Keep it up
Quite an interesting list. Puka still insane at the game. Zay breakout (jimmy was on it). JSN keeps improving. A bunch of other good names. Who knew Wan'Dale had that ceiling in him? I might regret fading him, as I didn't view him as having much of a ceiling in .5 PPR.
And Troy Franklin too.
Miami, please trade Reek.
Also, we should add fantasy scoring for drawing DPI.
It’s pretty wild. I’ll be at the Bears/Cowboys game this weekend so Pickens is a lock to kill the Bears and destroy the tiny fraction of hope I still have
Haha have fun! Maybe the Bears will surprise you. Seems like Ben is getting fed up with the bs, so hopefully that means he’ll be implementing more rookie usage.
I’ll be targeting both offenses in the UD games this week, since the defense of each team has looked pretty bad.
Lmao.
Should we be worried about Shakir or do we think he turns it around ?
At least I can tell myself I was directionally accurate on XL lol. It's pain watching that dude play ball. I acknowledged he wasn't very good last year, especially as a first round pick. But I still thought he was a good profile to bet on, especially at his cost. He's been so much worse than I expected so far this season. Maybe he can still provide a few nice weeks, but it's looking bleak.
Watching Renfrow's role tells me the Coker bet was a good one, so it sucks that he ended up on IR. Maybe he can make some noise once he returns.
Ouch haha. You would have beaten me. I won 127.20-124.94.
Here's a thread showing some tough losses.
Currently advancing 2 of 8 entries on UD. Best one is this one. Wondering if it'll keep up.
Nice! Hopefully that team keeps it up. I'm currently advancing 26/150 in that contest, so basically right at expectation. But advancing wasn't my #1 priority, as I went really heavy stacking on each team, hoping the teams that make it through have infinite upside for the good offenses still live at the end of the season.
I'd probably be worried, but that's also because I was never in on him so I'm biased lol. The ankle sprains are tough to return from, and that team is just crowded.
Haha, that's gross.
I do not feel good about my team's long term prospect, but maybe it keeps surviving.
