Is this tilt?

Like initial instinct is to fold when facing with heavy heat but eventually your brain comes up with some random logic that oh villain is just getting aggro with draws/random hands.

It's like I was going to fold then go into tank then brain finds an excuse to call down. Then after taking a heavy loss with this nonsense, I find myself to do the same for hands afterwards as well.

Is the first one tilt? or only the ones afterwards? or they're not tilt just random spew?

Like I was playing 'well' until the first bad play happened followed by series of bad plays

The first one isn’t tilt, it’s poor judgement. Or maybe you had a read and it was wrong. Or maybe you were getting the right price.

Lots of people tilt after making what they think is a bad play.

how to identify tilt
tilt management
and controlling the inner beast
etc.

Not sure if there's a term for rationalizing bad plays at the heat of the moment. Like all of a sudden I want to make a bad decision, and my brain will rationalize my play for me. It's like tricking myself into believing this is a good choice then I have to pick such decision.

Just wondering if others have similar experiences as well.
What they have done to overcome it. etc.

Tilt is an emotional reaction to a prior event.

As others have opened, the initial incident is either variance or poor judgement.

I can definitely help with this question.

I wish I had learned this info when I was younger. Becoming Present allows you to make better decisions no matter the circumstances.

There’s certainly better players, but I would wager that nobody on this forum has read more poker books than I have. These techniques are new & different from other mindset ideas.

It’s made me a better player that’s having more fun playing poker, but it’s also improved my life overall. I believe that you get what you want by helping other people get what they want. I will not stop recommending this book.

When I am thinking well, I'll get up from the table. It might be for an orbit or two or I'll just leave for the day. I'll tighten up even more than I usually play if I am just thinking ok.

You can correct the error of judgment through experience and relentless self criticism. If your poker habit is destructive, don’t play. But if it’s recreational, just give effort to learning from the inevitable mistakes.
