Disagreeing with mask mandates. I don’t think you understood my post because I wasn’t making a prescriptive claim. I was merely pointing out that the conceptual space of cancel culture is a lot bigger than just these obvious cases of mob mentality and corporate greed stifling people’s political opinions. So dealing with the easy cases is like avoiding the most interesting part of this debate.
And by the way, people are being fired not just for celebrating his death but for supposed apologism for political violence that basically amounted to saying they didn’t like the guy and don’t want his legacy to be laundered just because he was killed in a horrific and tragic way. Or for saying they thought it was awful that he died but don’t really care to mourn his passing.
Obviously the person that played his execution snuff film on repeat in a classroom of 10 and 11 year olds deserved to get BTFO’d because that’s evil and mental illness. Of course that was on the job. Again, private companies can and should be able to do what they want, for the most part. It's when the government tells them to do something, that is the problem.
Leftists in general NEVER even tangentially cared about the rule of law. They always and only care about the end goal. If something is aligned with their preferences it is democratic otherwise it is not.
