1/2: Flopped trips facing river shove

1/2: Flopped trips facing river shove

1/2, 5-handed

Hero opens $10 UTG with K️T️ because super passive table, SB and BB (new middle aged guy who sat with $200) calls

Flop ($30): A️K️K
Hero $15, only BB calls

Turn ($60): 7
Hero $35, BB calls

River ($130): 3
Hero $40, V checkshoves $150..

My main question is.. is the river bet too thin to target Ax?

I think River bet is fine, Ax is calling that sizing all day. Problem is when he rips it in, that’s almost always flushes or sometimes AK. Most players at 1/2 aren’t bluffing this spot, so I’d just fold and not lose sleep.

Preflop opening KTo in utg is a bit loose.
Easy fold as played

oh didn't pay attention to that. good catch!

You’ve invested $90 to win $200. If you had bet much bigger on the river, you’d have to call. As played, new player could be just claiming the flush with an outright bluff, or have a worse king, but until he proves he can make these kind of plays, it’s a fold.

Don't like the river bet because it accomplishes nothing. It won't stop a flush from raising and Ax is going to fold once the flush comes in.

Once you get called on the flop, size up on the turn. I'd go $45 - $50.

Check/decide river or just put him in and make him make the decision. The small bet accomplishes nothing.

Disagree an ace is folding to that sizing. I like the river bet fold.
