The murder of Charlie Kirk

Child rapist shouldn't be set free. Once they are set free and they are actively trying to burn a city down and attack a guy with a gun, they certainly should be shot and definitely don't deserve any sympathy You defending this psycho is a window in to what I was describing. A totally broken moral compass and a total lack of humanity. How many minutes ago did you post this? You'

So why vote for trump ?

10 million dollars worth of cars? people have died for way less. I would look at who convinced him into doing it.

As a Canadian this makes perfect sense to me that someone convinced a dumb kid into defending their car lot

I’m speaking in principle .
How you sure it’s that amount that been destroyed ?
And regardless , again ….should this job be distributed to a 17 years old ?
With The responsibility of killing peoples ?
Really ?

by checkraisdraw m

Good. So if someone comes to your house and tries to burn down your home, so long as no one is inside the home then it’s ok to burn it down right? Which by the people have been happy in this thread to talk about him being 17 as a factor for why he was intrinsically irresponsible. Well the people, including Rosenbaum, who were setting people on fire are intrinsically murde

Like the respond I made earlier ?
That responsibility belongs to a 17 years old with the responsibility of killing people’s and expecting to have the right judgement to when to shoot or not ?
I don’t know seem a security company or w.e would have been more adequate shrug

Ps: fwiw , did the actual killing was done especially for the reason he was “hired” at that place ?
Doesn’t seem so .

Btw I don’t think defending your own personal house is the same has a non personal business in another city .

I have spent the last 15 years on this forum criticizing progressivism and the woke left. But that being said, you would have to be blind not to see how the current iteration of the woke right Republican Party is worse.

Which is basically what everyone else has been saying was going to happen the entire time--they're going to use the woke stuff to run amuck on the economy and break stuff. It's kinda what they do. When has the right ever delivered for reg working people in our lives? The entire philosophy puts everyday people as an afterthought and never as a top priority.

trump's methods are unsound πŸ˜€ Him mixed in with the normal R party has been a total ****show. We have a bunch of ~75yr olds on death's door running around thinking they're building a utopia that actually looks like drunken cooking lol I wonder how many truckloads of pills they gobble down per day πŸ˜€

by checkraisdraw m

Yes exactly. When Israel goes in and levels massive amounts of buildings, people intrinsically know that they are committed to killing whoever may be inside, and that’s why they have to issue no go zones and other warnings. But even if no one is inside, burning down/leveling buildings is intrinsically an act of war that is extremely violent. That is absolutely 100% correct and i

So any fire cause accidentally or not should be equivalent to murder since it’s ok to killed them right ?

I said arson. It’s not equivalent to murder but it’s enough to establish murderous intent if someone does die.

Ok we’re getting pretty far from the original point …
But again it’s sensibly the same situation …
Regardless being arsonist act or murder , an accidental fire that burned that an entire Wendy or accidental murder (man slaughtered)
-> should a 17 years old have the responsibility to defend the property with lethal capabilities?
And is those act of vandalism equivalent to murders because you allow a person to get shot and kill for those reasons ?
I clearly say no for both counts but I’m not American so ….

I think a pedophile for example deserve more to get shot then a person putting fire to a bunch of bricks but that just my β€œCanadian philosophy β€œ I suppose shrug

Lucium,I know you keep saying sensible people should vote Republican just because they are generally more free market and anti-regulation. But honestly, I just dont see how I can get there the way the party is acting.First off, you have the Tucker Carlson wing of the party going straight pro Russia/Iran and anti-Israel (and in his case blatant anti-semitism), then you have all

as you very well know, people in 40+ states don't matter at all to elect the president.

but basically everyone still matters for primaries of the dominant local party (most people live in areas when ine party autowins in their district).

so as always you should just vote in primaries for the candidate that more reflects your preferences, and that's your "real" (=consequential) vote.

the actual election day vote is just performative and you can use it to send signals (like voting third party or not voting) and so on depending on the details.

ofc current day republicans show elements we can both agree are very bad.

problem is when they played nicer in the past they lost. so they tried something else and it worked. now republicans are a big tent party (at least currently) which means having a lot of trash people inside.

ofc Carlson is utter trash and one of the worst. not sure why you think he is very much listened to by actual republicans on office though give pro Israel this admin (and the Senate in general) has been.

they can't "disavow" votes if they want to try to win. they have to try to get the votes without implementing the vile policies the radicals ask for.

it's not a big problem for the nation if wolves are part of the leftist coalition, it is a big problem is the leftist coalition when in power gives woke everything they ask for.

radicals aren't supposed to be rewarded more than very little bread crumbles, because they have no where to go anyway. a person thinking Carlson sounds correct will never vote democrat anyway. you can keep him in the coalition by deporting illegals and you don't need to assuage the rest of the crap for example.

same with leftists and people who want people with dicks in women sport. just don't give it to them, increase welfare and they will never vote republican anyway, why would they. they still care about leftist judges being nominated, about abortion rights and so on.

now the tariffs problem (and the stall on deregulation) is different. that comes from the top, from core Trump/maga, is absurd, damages the economy, has no justification.

you just have to think hard and deep and decide depending on who the democrat candidate is, but for sure a centrist (ok the economy democrat ) can and would be better than a pro tariff republican.

but I mean if democrats drop the horror show of woke garbage and go back to be Clinton democrats... they are fine? I mean it's then fine to vote for them? they can easily be better than republicans.

otoh if people who want massive tax increases get to lead the party then I strongly suggest you weight your options depending on the details.

but anyway a lot would depend on who runs for what and who you get to choose in your specific district. and anyway taking the house away from republicans in 2026 would be good regardless: divided government is always better in general.

I mean if I could vote in the USA and I was in a purple house district I would vote for any democrat who isn't a radical leftist over any normal republican in 2026. just to keep the power divided which is always better for the people

He is one of the keynote speakers of the Kirk memorial alongside Trump. Trump apparently views him as an important enough voice of the party to be given a giant platform alongside him. And this is in spite of the fact most of his podcasts (and now his new 9-11 conspiracy documentary) are direct opposition of Trump's foreign policy; and he doesn't even promote anything Trump does domestically.

So Trump/Trump's team clearly think he carries enough interparty power they would lose more votes/influence dumping him than keeping him.

Should a 17 year old have that responsibility? Not sure, it depends on the situation. It’s not inherently unjustified. In KR’s specific case I wouldn’t have advised him to do it.

But so what? How did this guy become a villain, because he was a vigilante or because people thought he was a murderer who shot down peace activists in cold blood? If you’re going to get mad at the myth of him being a hero surely that would also make you mad, and so should the horrific rioting.

I've been trying to figure out what would be a similar situation for someone on the right. I think this would be, for those who strongly oppose abortion.

Not that long ago, people would regularly protest at abortion clinics, harassing employees and patients, and even preventing patients from going inside. At times the facilities were also attacked.

Let's say there are one of these protests going on, a bit of a drive across the state border from our protagonist. It's covered on the news, and you can see that patients are being verbally and physically harassed, with attempts to prevent them from entering. There are no police present.

Maybe this guy is also 17 years old and wants to be a white knight who protects women. So the guy drives half an hour, buys an assault rifle (yea, it's a state with no waiting) and heads over to the clinic, with plans to safeguard it and its employees and patients.

He arrives to see the same situation he saw on TV earlier. He starts out trying to comfort and escort one of the patients, but then two women start getting in his face and grabbing for him and his weapon. So he shoots and kills both of them. Another person comes charging at him, and he shoots her down as well.

Who exactly is in the wrong here? The "protestors"? The shooter? Both? Is the guy a hero or a villain? Should he be convicted of any crime? I know the situation isn't exactly the same, but no two ever are, and this is my good faith attempt of an equivalent.

I speculate that not many people would find this guy to be a hero who will now make a living on the speaking circuit, especially those on the right who oppose abortion.

I wouldn't call him a hero either, and I don't think he should have done what he did, but his intentions were far nobler than those of KR. He had primary intentions to protect people (and property), not just property. And he also shot his weapon in self-defense.

I haven't yet watched any footage of the "memorial", but I'm guessing it's really more of a campaign rally. It will be interesting to find out how many lies are uttered my Trump, and if he can manage to memorialize one man without threatening others and spewing his usual anger and hatred.

You're correct, I did make a one-character typo. The SwiftKey on my phone isn't always perfect, and I've been playing live poker while making many posts today. I have no idea what race you are. Yeah the last couple pages highlights my last point exactlyThere is no symmetry between the left and right. The left still holds disdain for Rittenhouse who shot violent rioters and a child rapist when they attacked him. The reaction to saint floyd dying while resisting arrest was foaming at the mouth rage. The reaction to kirk dying has been to dance on his grave. As I said bef

That's the dumbest thing you've ever said.

An argument can be made that Kyle wanted to have a reason to smoke someone just based on his recordings before the incident even happened. However, mindreading isn't legally recognized, so we have to go based on the evidence presented in court.

I assume you meant "adolescence" here.I would not be comfortable being around anyone who would be considered a warrior under any circumstances. Especially when I was not currently fighting a war.Of course, it is impossible for anyone to know if a random unknown 17 year old boy has been trained to use a firearm. But if it could somehow be known, personally I would be more worri

Meh 18-year-olds are carrying weapons of war in the army ….

a 17-year-old carrying a gun in the USA is not that big of a deal when put into context of the summer of 2020.

The issue was the radical left-wing and their vile behavior, they’re deranged political views like all white people, including homeless people are privileged. Their hatred of the police. And so that is what motivated people all over the place to counter them legally and frankly morally. And in many, if not all of the police cases that people were protesting, you actually had police officers who were justified or that it was a debate as to whether they’re shootings of the victims or actions were justified. Now compare that to Charlie Kirk the person who killed Kirk straight up was a murderer. He had no justification. There is no debate. This was straight up political murder, an assassination.

The BLM/antifa riots constituted by far the worst political violence in recent American history. All throughout the country in the summer of 2020 they burn down buildings, attacked truck drivers, caused complete chaos took over the streets. That was a serious threat and in the summer of 2020 we could all vividly remember in cities across America. Complete chaos. Motivated by the false idea that the police were racist or brutal. Again never mind the many patriotic black police officers. To this day, some left-wingers downplay the BLM/antifa riots in the summer of 2020.

So in 2020 on one side you have thousands of fanatical left-wingers rioting across the country. Vandalizing looting, murdering people. And on the other side, you have someone like Kyle Rittenhouse motivated by patriotism by wanting to help the community. You’re spinning it in the wrong way. You’re also perhaps just looking at the wrong way. Frankly, a lot of people would say if only we had more concerned citizens like KR or even a more appropriate response by law-enforcement to the BLM riots of 2020.

Of course unfortunately you have folks who keep on bringing up January 6 as if the summer 2020 riots were nothing. Or because in the minds of left wingers because January 6 was at the capital building that it was somehow worse, even though there was never any ability at all for those people to “take over” the government. That is simply something left-wingers used to justify their incorrect beliefs. It is astonishing. …Lol yeah a bunch of elderly people are gonna take over the government on January 6. Never mind all the police who ushered the so-called rioters into the building. Never mind that you had like 80 people there. This has to be the dumbest garbage propaganda by the left wing, who actually believe that there was an “insurrection” on January 6…..if Trump actually wanted that he would have told the military to take over the country. Never happened though. Why did Joe Biden take office after Donald Trump. I mean, why didn’t Trump just prevent Biden from taking office. It’s because there never was an insurrection and in the minds of the ridiculous left-winger they just make things up, say whatever they need to say to suit their political agenda about January 6

by Luciom m

he was only a racist according to leftist definition, not normal definitions. So yes for you, not for normal people

Everyone, the Left and the Right, recognize statements Kirk made as well as his cluster of opinions and attitudes as unmistakably racist. There is no non racist person who thinks the Civil Rights Act was a mistake. Hardly anyone outside of academia even thinks about the Civil Rights Act unless searching for ways to attack the roots of tolerance and equality under the law. And that's what Kirk was doing. He died trying to start a race war and empower the war on immigrants. He's a scumbag. I mean he was a scumbag.

Well, Tucker said the (((hummus eaters))) killed Kirk like they killed Jesus 2000 years ago. He really cant talk about anything but Jews anymore.

Trump said he can't forgive his enemies the way Charlie would have wanted him too. He more or less pledged a campaign of revenge against the left.

And for everyone else it was mostly a typical memorial service.
