BLOOD GAME: a poker-themed spy novel
Hello, players! I'm a Detroit player (when I get the chance) and I write espionage thrillers with a main character who plays poker. My debut novel "Blood Game" came out about a month ago, but it's only just occured to me to post about it here.
The main character, Dr. Thomas Vale, uses authentic poker strategy at times, in a way that is essential to the plot, not just thrown in as a gimmick. As far as I'm aware, it's the first thriller novel to discuss hand histories, preflop strategy, and hand ranges, and also the first to even mention that PLO exists. If you enjoy thrillers in general, I think you'll really enjoy my poker-playing version of Jack Ryan. James and Joe from "Poker In The Ears" will be interviewing me and reviewing it in an early April episode. I look forward to honest reviews from some of you as well.
It's available in electronic, softcover, or hardcover at Amazon, Barnes&Noble, and many other online retailers. Or you can order a copy from my website below, and I'll be happy to sign and personalize it for you. You'll find a lot more information about both me and the book there. From now until the end of April, you can use the code "STARS77" on my site to get $7 off, which covers shipping and then a little more, which means signed copies from my site are cheaper than you'll find anywhere else.
Happy reading,
Jeffe Boats

Hello All,
Just a quick update ... the "STARS77" coupon above no longer works at my website, but there is still a "5SHIP" coupon to give $5 off orders. Also, I'm trying to switch the e-version of my book to Kindle Unlimited, which will make it free for anyone with that subscription. That might take a week or two though -- it's a bit of a pain working with publishers sometimes! But look for it. I'm very interested to hear what the poker community thinks.

Hello all,
The shipping discount mentioned in the previous post remains active, but the reason I'm actually posting is:
The sequel book, "Crying Call," is finished. It will officially roll out on Amazon, B&N, and all the other book sites on February 3rd, 2026. But if anyone would like to read it earlier, you can order copies off my website, and of course I'll be delighted to sign and personalize them for you.
