The "LOLCANADA" thread...again
So what's new?
I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet
LMAO. My buddy screwed up so badly in his partisanship that he accused the liberals who doesn't even have a party in the province of being at fault, but ignores this and tries to fact check this? Fact check me?
No.
2 birds tested positive. Only a sample are actually tested. 69 birds then died over the next month. So it seems pretty clear the avian flu spread through the herd and they were absolutely a risk. Given this, it seems objectively clear that the cull order was correct - no? It's debatable now, after so long and so much defiance because the infection has presumably passed. Now it's up to the courts. But the standard should not be you can just defy and order and get away with it. I don't know if this is even in the power of the law, but if it were me I would apply a CRIPPLING large fine for defiance of the order (as deterrence from copy cats in the future resulting in increased health risk as farmers try to delay orders) while letting the birds be retested. There has to be deterrence.

Not much to argue in here anyways. Canada sucks, Uke and like-minded people are the reason it sucks and it will continue to suck.

This is a pretty visible one, but this is a good example of Carney starting to do some of the things that are necessary but are not going to be popular. The Canada Post obviously needs reforms, it's absolutely bleeding money. But doing the right thing in a way that chips away your own base is hard. This is absolutely going to be felt with the austerity across much of the government as well, Carney is right to get operational costs down, but political it hurts and the conservatives of coursed will give zero ounces of credit for it.
Lozen you like Vassy, did you see the bit where she asked Poilievre repeatedly said over and over and over again that you could cancel the carbon tax and grocery prices would go way down, and then the carbon tax was cancelled and it didn't move grocery prices stayed the same actually went up a bit and so why would anyone trust Poilievre on economics ever again?

I think she’s great pulls no punches and asks the tough questions to both parties
Nope I have not seen it
If you had asked me if grocery prices would come down after the carbon tax was cancelled I would have said no . I’d expect the retailers, truckers to keep the added profits
Feel free to share it and I’ll watch it

Like I said kudos to Carney

I mean prices never get lowered but it might stop them from going up for a bit
If you had asked me if grocery prices would come down after the carbon tax was cancelled I would have said no
Indeed. Everyone would. It was super obvious that Poilievre was lying through his teeth. As it turned out, the effect on inflation was basically exactly the mostly negligible amount that it was predicted by economists to be. Shocker.
Remember all the dripping condecension of Poilievre over and over and over with his "when you tax the farmer who grows the crops and tax teh driver the transports the crops and blah blah blah" and in the end of the day you got rid of the rebates and got rid of the tax and everything cancelled out as we all said it would and basically no effect.

All we can do is speak from personal experience. I alone will save $2000-$3000 now that carbon tax is gone . Most of the trades I use say the same thing on how much they are saving now that carbon tax is gone . Have I seen a reduction in grocery prices ? Nope never expected it
Of course you can speak more. You can look at any number of economists (or the PBO) who predicted precisely what actually happened and so even though only just now poilievre has been demonstrated to have lied through his teeth, this shouldn't be a surprise. Of course $3000 in savings is almost certainly a gross exaggeration. That wouldn't have been federal, that is just because you are rich enough to get zero back in rebates in BC so the vast majority under the federal backstop were nowhere remotely close to that as a net . But even for rich people in BC, $3000 would involve a massive amount of either driving or a particularly large home or probably both and still not get there.
Like do you actually feel $3000 a year richer since Carney got elected becasue of the carbon tax being gone?

I’m not sure what you define as rich but the cutoff in Bc does not mean you’re rich .
Have you seen the carbon tax on home heating with natural gas . And yes I’ve done a ton of driving this year with my sister in the hospital in Edmonton and not sure she was going to make it . I’m actually heading there again next week . That’s 2000 kms each trip with a truck .
Do I feel richer ? No not at all the cost of living is outrageous I’m not sure how a family if four does it to be honest
Add in the fact my company has to pay the carbon tax on heating houses during construction and while they are vacant .
Let’s be clear under Trudeau life became more unaffordable for many
I’m curious what do you think is worse Pierre flat out lying about the carbon tax in your opinion as the opposition or flat out lies in campaign promises as the PM

Cool whataboutism bro! Like you’ve moved on from even telling us what the whataboutism is, it’s just a vague bothsidesism whataboutism.

FWIW, imo when a government decision like being done vs post Canada should result immediately firing top management.
They could not solve this negotiation and they couldn’t solve anything in past years to have so much trouble today .
Seeing how bad they could end up being fired by waiting every time a special law being pass , maybe they would start to be honest , doing their job and really negotiate instead waiting for the government to bailed them out one way or the other .

Promises sucks when it’s not done .
Lying every single day about things that affects millions of people is worst .
So what you two are saying that Pierre was lying when he said the costs of groceries increased due to a carbon tax ?
And yes you could call that a whataboutism but the problem with you lefties you only call out the party you hate . If you would hold your leaders to the same standards you expect from the opposition but you don’t and that applies to Ukes comment not Montreals
Poilievre regularly lied day in and day out and placed his entire platform on the lies about the carbon tax. They were obvious lies before. But now that the carbon tax is gone and the lies unequivocally revealed to be lies as the predictions just didn’t happen, it’s worth taking a moment to knowledge them. Finally.
Which you had yet to do.
Instead all we have is saying whatabout the liberals! Without even listing a specific whataboutism. Like you cant claim some superiority that you acknowledge lies and we don’t when you don’t acknowledge the lie!
Great you caught another awful Canadian politician in a lie. Pierre is borderline irrelevant now anyways.
He is the most likely winner of the next election and represents the constituency of almost half the country, how on earth do you get to “borderline irrelevant”?

Are you saying the carbon tax did not increase the cost of consumer goods especially groceries ?
