Cover could work, like Neil said. For cover model. Sort of a 1.5-step connection, but not bad when facing a 5-clue.
I think some clubs have runways/catwalks.
I could force fit a couple others, but I won’t.
i was thinking tokyo for both airport and thought it could be one of the main fashion places, but i really have no idea on that
space for runways being the space to walk/takeoff/etc

jab is a punch, so strike is #1 and shot is #2 for that
I woulda fought for that but it's my fault for being away
now we have unlimited but only word on list is shot, which is ours for jab, so we need 3 for runway
strike hits ok there as well, and as our 2nd jab word
we already got our eagle words
so just need 2 more runway
gas is decent as you gotta fuel up on the runway
not sure on the last one
Canada - Air Canada; Canada has runways; you use runways to travel to other places, like Canada; not great but works in a pinch
Cap - don't see it
Club - there are clubs at the airport, but then woulda just been airport as the clue, so nah; tho then again there are model runways at fashion shows which could be held at a club; meh-ish
Cook - you definitely cook in the plane when it's stalled on runway for hours as they don't run the A/C; been there before; but nah
Cover - cover models on the runway; runway is covered in ice/snow; not great
Flute - no
Gas - yes
Hood - no
Ketchup - no
Play - meh
Pupil - not really
Strike - jab word and lots of military strikes on runways so yes

he didn't do airport, which hits strike and gas as well, so maybe runway is for a fashion runway or other meaning of it?
Yes, I'm aware of what a jab is, thanks. It's also a shot in the arm. Would've been hard to talk me off arm considering how easy it is to connect shot/strike while avoiding arm entirely.
As for runway, this would ~always mean that cover and club are ours since they were the two words blues had next for the same clue. But they also got an unlimited, so how are they not theirs??? Looks like ervin has just decided to make the game more confusing than it needs to be for no reason at all again.
