Bullpen game for game 4 sounds like a nightmare, back in the day you'd just go Gausman 4 and Yesavage 5. This bullpen stinks right now.
Have no idea how they got Wells at 2nd his slide must've been really slow. It didn't look like theyd have any chance of getting him until suddenly he was out. Luckily Yankees blew their challenges.
Those Barger and Falefa errors both really hurt.
I've never seen a CF back up the other outfielders as well as Varsho does.

Yankees blew both challenges early on relatively low leverage plays. It's a full count on Grisham and you're using a challenge to hope he gets on 1st base?
Having said that, the Giménez HBP is about as cheap as an HBP gets. That ball just grazed a part of his wrist protector that was sticking out from his body a couple of inches.
Yankees were right on both reviews and it's mind boggling they weren't overturned. If they get those calls wrong what's the point of saving them.
After the 7th is ump reviews anyway .

The Stanley cup run is really bad. But baseball is whatever we only have 1 team. They've won 2 titles in a 47 year history, that's actually slightly above average.
We have been running insanely good, though. Stuff happens.
Not sure why, if they wanted Santander in there so bad, they didn't go Springer in RF and Santander as DH. Even better, keep Santander out and put Lukes in RF. Lukes has pop and great defence and is fast. Are they hoping Santander will find his form that he never had this year? Oh well, they know more than me.
Also, would have been ok with Barger starting despite the lefty and leave IKF on the bench.
What might be our downfall is SP. Not long ago we had Gausman, Scherzer, Bassitt, Berrios and Lauer as starting 5. Only Gausman is left. Sure, Gausman has been solid, Yesavage has been awesome, and Beiber has been OK, but I am not sure why Lauer was not groomed for the 4th spot. He has been as good if not better than anyone but Gausman for much of the year. I mean what kind of thinking is this. Bassitt out....Scherzer out....Berrios....out.....so let's put Lauer in the pen????
Maybe they start Varland today and shift to Lauer for the bulk of the work.
The idea of a bullpen start for a team like the Jays that had almost a week off to line things up seems a little odd to me.
Four game slate baby! Be nice if they started them a little earlier though.
What's the over/under on Dave ever putting Treinen out there in a game closer than 3 runs again?
Anyone think this wasn't a mistake by Dave? The metrics on Treinen look BAD compared to years past.
