Respect Mark! Nothing but appreciation for this level of detail & passion. Enjoy your latte. I’ll take a quad shot black on ice.

I think mine are way better than anything from the store, like grocery store, and way better than Starbucks, but next level below a really good coffee shop/roaster. This new roaster should change that to where mine compare favorably to pretty much anywhere. My old roaster had a temp limit of 485F, so I would just crank it to high and let it go until it was at the "doneness" I w

super interesting and makes sense

thanks for taking the time to explain it

Would love to try some of your beans in this. My dad bought this for my mom as a Christmas gift in the late 1960s. My childhood memories of this were anytime we had company mom would break out the good coffee maker. Quite possible the first sip of coffee I had came from this.

Pretty sure we had one of the 1st Mr. Coffee drip coffee makers that came out in 1972 (I was 7 at the time) but remember it well. Then dad splurged and bought a BUNN coffee maker.

But still for company or special occasions mom would use the Corningware Sunflower 10 cup percolator.

GOOD TIMES

Where do I send my money?

Edit: Forgot to say that this is what I make coffee in when I entertain visitors. Carrying on the tradition.

Great story CC!

I'm like a heroin dealer. First hit's free. You need to entertain more, the top of that percolater is dusssty.

Cowboy Cold Brew iyam.

Great story!

The only coffee maker my folks ever had was an old metal percolator. We didn't drink much coffee around the house, and AFAIK they never served it to company. Now beer and bourbon was a different story ...

We also had an early Mr Coffee. Seems like we had china with a similar pattern, one piece of which was this big ol' picther that I think Mom used for coffee. Pretty sure it wasn't a percolator though.

I bet the smell from mark's roaster is pretty awesome too. Love the smell when the brewery near me is roasting up some barley.

Ex always said it smelled like burnt popcorn, lol. Definitely doesn't smell like coffee.

My first cup of coffee came from one of these beasts at a little cafe owned by friends of my parents. It was about half milk and ordered for me by a friend of my dad's who was obviously needling him by ordering it for me when I asked if I could have some coffee. My dad had breakfast there every morning and I went with him on days he was going to drop me off at school. It wasn't long before I was fetching his coffee from one of these monsters while he hogged the sports page of the morning paper and was yakking with the owner of the place. That's where I learned about betting lines in football. I even thought that coffee was good. Fun times!

That thing looks like it could explode at any moment. I'd be scared to touch it as an adult, much less as a kid. 😆

Sorry to break up the coffee talk, but these bad boys at 20% off were sweet!

Finally getting with the times and bought a dashcam. Having it installed in a couple of weeks. Could probably do it myself but I am not much good at electrical or car stuff, so paying someone to do it is worth it for me.

I get lunch and dinner catered where I live, so this is great for quickly doing perfect boiled or poached eggs for breakfast, or steaming vegetables. Only ~$25.

First roast today. Cart I made myself. I need to bump the coffee thread and get 27 to move all my nonsense there, lol.

I had a Viofo that lasted probably about 3 years and died. Probably gonna drop quite a bit of money on a good system in the spring. And also getting a Uniden R8 which is $700+.

Best things I bought recently are Michelin PS4S for one of my cars and CC2s for my other car. CCs handled great in the rain the other day; can't wait to test them out in the snow in a few months.

I'm guessing the beer is also!

Man, 20 years clean/sober this year. The only beer in the place is some leftovers from gma's 105th bday party last weekend.
