Staying at hotel but not gambling

Hi All - Can't really find a concrete answer on this and I apologize if this is in the wrong thread. So for example if I book a comped room but I do not gamble at all and I do not use my rewards card for anything will that count as a gambling day and severely hurt my rewards? Not sure, because I won't be swiping my card but obviously the reservation will be in my name. Looking for any guidance. Thank you

If you use comps with no play it will definitely hurt your rating.

Depending on the fine print, you may also find that you are going to pay the rack rate for that room.

I wouldn't use comps to pay the resort fees. Probably too risky to do it even if I never swipe or use my rewards and comps.

By using comps I meant any comps including a comp room offer. Even something as small as using free parking, assuming you swipe to access parking, will create a visit with no play.

A room comp will 100% create a visit. It will lower your theo at least. Doing just once or occassionally probably no drastic effects. But have heard of situations, some on here, where people’s accounts were virtually or actually suspended for abusing comps. Particularly possible when the comps are tied to card level and not play. Another factor is how the card level was achieved. If it wasn’t through normal play, I.e. you were “highly efficient”, you will get suspended quicker and easier.

Basically if you game the system in their opinion, they will strike back. But once or rarely, you can get away with it.

I would consider what the downside is if you do lose your comps. If you're a high roller regular that gets a ton of free benefits then it might not be worth risking your status. If you're a casual gambler who drops a couple hundred on slots occasionally and goes multiple places then it might be worth it.

Years ago I got a free room offer to a nice resort after like one trip there where I gambled a few hundred. I used the free room for a trip with my girlfriend where we didn't gamble at all. After that I kept getting offers and kept going back with my GF and never gambled. Eventually I stopped getting offers but I got at least four or five free trips first.

I really didn't intend to go back and gamble there anyway so it was worth it to cash in while I could. I might not have done this if it was like a Caesars or MGM property that is associated with a bunch of other places where I could also lose benefits.

My understanding is if they know you're on property, they consider it a gaming day. Like even if you buy something with a credit card in the gift shop.

Generally agree except maybe the part about using a cc. If that cc is linked to your Caesar’s card, sure. But if it is a comp, etely separate I doubt it.

They would have to link it to you. But a name alone isn’t really enough. Vast majority of people have at least one namesake. Plus cc can use a variation of name on your id.

Just too many issues trying to link name to your Caesar’s card number.
