[WSOP.com Nevada] Unofficial thread
Since WSOP locked their thread, why can't we have our own?
As an old fart that never goes more than two tables, I'd like to see shorter time banks and ones that don't refill. Tired of the slow play of the mass tablers. If you can't keep up, don't multi-table or reduce the number.
Oh, and get rid of card strike. It's stupid and annoying. The fake "random" spinning wheel is infuriating.

Yea I do like this idea a lot. I don't understand the formula right now, but it seems like the timebank resets without "earning" it
Bring table chat back.
My only issue with card strike is that it blocks your hole cards while it is going off. Other than that it's a nice promo.
No one wants to police this. And 99% of chat seemed to have degenerated to variations of βYouβre a donkβ and experiments in sliding racial epitaphs past whatever filter was present.
I guess I wouldnβt care if they brought it back so long as I could turn it off again but this would be the lowest of low priorities for me. Anonymity enshittifies chat. See there? Iβm throwing dirty words around because thereβs no consequence.
I play on 888 and believe some people just fall into the trap thinking they win big when they hit and get surprised when they see 1bb. I myself haven't played much with this feature since I only returned to 888 after many years because I won on a free spin and have never hit the strike but seen it seven times with others and all seven were 1bb.
Card strike should be seen as an extra only and not a specific reason why one plays.
I have done this long enough to realize when these sites take things away, they by no means are obligated to replace it with another promotion dollar for dollar. So almost always taking promos away is bad imo.
Again, donβt have strong feels either way. But it isnβt βfreeβ money any more than bad beat/bonus hand promotions are in live play. Theyβre funded by players. Itβs more obvious live with the separate drop.
Iβd be all in if they said βdrop the rake equal to what is funding card strikeβ.
It is not like live poker because that promo fund in live poker has to go back to promotions, The card strike is coming from the players rake, The site is not obligated to replace it with another promotion like they would be using a jackpot fund that has to go back to the players in live poker.
I have gotten 50bbs a bunch of times and even 1-2bbs here and there multiple times a day adds up, The only complaint I have against it is the wheel blocks your whole cards.
π In my case it even blocks my hole cards. π
VPIP tables — 20–30%, or ones that include antes for extra action.
Run It Twice option.
The jump from $1/$2 to $2/$5 NL is too big. Adding a $1/$3 or $2/$4 level would make moving up smoother and keep more players in the mix.
Weekly or seasonal leaderboards for cash games. Top players by rake or points could win tickets, bonuses, or some WSOP merch. Gives people something extra to grind for besides just the money.
Adding some gamification would help too — a player page when you click someone’s name, badges or levels for milestones like playing 1,000 hands at $1/$2, or unlocking special avatars or table themes. Makes the grind more rewarding and keeps casual players engaged.
Poker online can feel pretty isolating, especially for rec players. Some kind of chat channel, or even just better emoji options like NH, BRB, Good morning, Good afternoon, Please call, Please fold, One time, etc., would make it feel more social.
Good stuff, particularly agree about the isolation stuff. Anything to make it more social.
The software is still subpar. They've been in the market for 12 years and WSOP still has the worst software. They need to acknowledge it and fix it.
They would get a lot more action if players were willing to start tables. There are lot of regs who won't start a table, and then they immediately join in the best seat when the action is good. Painloover is an obvious example, but there are lots of those players. There's no incentive to start a table when you know those players will do that. WSOP needs to implement random seating (no option to choose your own seat). That's an obvious fix that would result in more players starting tables and more action.
WSOP has the best brand name and they could easily capture more market share and higher volume.
Has anyone updated their address on WSOP? How does one go about doing so? Under My Account -> Personal Details -> Contact Information the address fields are uneditable.

These are all really great suggestions! Totally on board with this line of thought.
I like many of these suggestions, particularly the rakeback going back to annual and the run it twice. But I've been wondering, after all this time, why don't they have a rep in here?

So I asked this question, particularly when it pertained to twitter. I think it's really important to have a face of the brand, or a centralized place to answer questions, even if it's basic. I was told that the poker people are very interested in this idea, but it's a broader Caesars policy that they dont want one person as the gospel of any decisions.
I will include that in my notes that other people were interested in that though, especially on 2+2.
Are others with me that having a twitter handle is important?

If this is true it's a terrible decision by the higher ups. WSOP has no voice and they look incompetent and apathetic toward the players.
Has anyone seen higher than 50 BBs on Card Strike? Never seen anything close to the "jackpot" won on a spin.
lol wut. have never gotten more than a few big blinds in thousands of spins
I have gotten 100bb before. Rare but it does happen.
