Anyone up for any sort of daily puzzle?
Just say what you're playing and willing to post in here and I'll likely join you.
I do Octordle and its variants (rescue and sequence) currently but am open to whatever.
If anyone is interested in a new Wordle variant here's what you do:
Turn off hard mode
Your first 5 turns are:
GLENT
BRICK
JUMPY
WAQFS
VOZHD
Then you have 1 turn to guess the word, but the first 5 turns got you 25 letters of info

It's going to be very easy most days I think.
Very high chance of success but close to 0% chance of getting anything better than a 6
This could be an interesting variant to play if there was some reward/penalty for deciding when to go for your "official" pick.
For example, you go GLENT, BRICK, JUMPY and then decide to go for the word on turn 4.
We could have something like this
Getting it on word 6 - 1 point. Missing on word 6 -1 point
Getting it on word 5 - 2 points. Missing on word 5 -2 points
Getting it on word 4 - 3 points. Missing on word 4 -3 points
Getting it on word 3 - 4 points. Missing on word 3 -4 points
Getting it on word 2 - 5 points. Missing on word 2 -5 points
Have a 10 day cycle or something.
We can test this out for 3 or 4 days if you two want to? if it seems like fun then invite others? We could start a new thread if it seems like fun..

Is the order the words goes in fixed or could people tinker with the order to add a bit of strategy (most likely perceived strategy and just randomness)
I did fixed order

went for the 50/50 on word 3. perhaps there were more options but I felt confident in _RILL
Going JUMPY at 3 doesn't help at all.
WAQFS would've given the yellow (or non-yellow) F to be able to solve in 5.
Perhaps non-fixed is better for gameplay so we can try to optimize our path.

So, no can't think of anything other than DRILL after turn 4, and if was not on autopilot I should have stopped there.

I sent some PMs out to get you to come test a new variant of Wordle that Xander found.
It works like this.. The guessing words are predetermined.
You start like this, and in this order (with the game set to hard mode OFF)
GLENT
BRICK
JUMPY
WAQFS
VOZHD
Then you guess the word on your 6th try. As in the normal Wordle games, you screenshot your board (In Spoilers) and post here.
The Twist
I thought the game would be more fun if we added some risk/reward twist and also keep score. The twist is you still have to the use the words above in order, but you can stop at anytime and guess (you don't need to wait for the 6th spot)
The risk/reward scoring will go like this
Getting it on word 6 = 1 point. Missing on word 6 = -1 point
Getting it on word 5 =2 points. Missing on word 5 = -2 points
Getting it on word 4 = 3 points. Missing on word 4 = -3 points
Getting it on word 3= 4 points. Missing on word 3 = -4 points
Getting it on word 2 = 5 points. Missing on word 2 = -5 points
Join and start practicing today if you want. If we have a enough of us I'll set up a start date very soon for keeping score.
I am suggesting 10 days cycles. I'll keep score for the 1st cycle and suggest that the winner of the first cycle score the next match, and so on.
So far Xander, housenuts and I are going to give it a go.

tried it on today's wordle; was pretty sure after 2 but didn't guess until after 5; gonna have to ponder risk/reward in this mode
