I was kind of mad at the BlueJays manager last night.
Can someone please explain to me how Davis Schneider was batting 2nd.
The guy who is hitting 1.54 in 5 playoff games this postseason.
And also had the 15th best average on the team during the 81 games he played
in the regular season. So only played 1/2 a season also.
Just because of leftie / righty combinations?
You gonna put the 15th best hitter on the team between Springer and Vladdy.
I feel like had the game been close that stupid move would have cost them.
Of course it made no difference, but that was just such a stupid move to me.
He went 0-3 and hit into a double play also.

He looked rusty for sure. I guess they didn't want to move Clements in there, so as to keep the whole order dangerous.
Straw over Lukes was another question mark. But, Schneider has been pretty fortunate with most of his moves.

1)it makes no sense. It's the 80s/90s put the scrappy white guy who can't hit second move
2) it's 2025. The manager doesn't make the lineup. The front office does.
Roberts needs to only use Japanese pitchers tonight assuming Yamamoto pitches like he normally does.
Schneider had a 119 OPS+ this year. That's 5th on the team after Springer, Guerrero, Bichette, and Varsho. He's a well above average hitter. For his career he's at 105 ops+. Still an above average hitter.
Schneider has a .361 OBP, what the problem is?
