Seriously, that book was boring as **** iirc.

Burn me at the stake but i found the extended edition of The Fellowship of the Ring a bit of a slog to get through?

I love the movies, saw them as a kid in theaters at release, but the pacing in the extended version was really off sometimes.
Long time since i have seen them, but i might go theatrical for The Two Towers

Pacing is definitely better in the theatrical cuts, I think Jackson has said he prefers them. But, I’ll always watch the extended just to spend more time hanging out in The Shire. Good vibes.

yeah, I adored the extended versions of all the Lord Of the Rings

One Battle After Another was great. Such a strange movie, as it's basically one, long chase. I need to watch it again, as the structure and editing is fascinating. Every actor in it shines, but Sean Penn obviously stands out. What a crazy role. Weird seeing Benicio del Toro in what is essentially the "straight" role.

A House Of Dynamitewas amazing...right up to the ending. It's one of the most stress-inducing movies I've ever seen. But it literally has no ending.

I read it in Air Force tech school in 1986, so I could relate to the walking a bit. The exhaustion & sort of instant camaraderie & cliques was portrayed well.

King’s take was that both Walk & Rage were pretty windy but “honest…with still a lot of story in them.” Should be noted both were began in high school—he finished Walk as a college freshman & Rage as a senior—and he was a full blown drunk when he graduated college.

Ok, I've been trying to get thru All Fall Down for 5 days now. Still have at least 30 minutes to go.

Facts: 1962 film, directed by John Frankenheimer and I think William Inge had something to do with the writing. Early Warren Beatty, with all-around incredible cast. Mother: Angela Lansbury, Father: Karl Malden, Little Brother: Brandon deWilde.

It's very dark psychodrama with everything swirling around this handsome sociopath they call Berry-Berry. I'm serious. It's powerful but misshapen. Poorly constructed.

Saw Springsteen tonight. Pretty good. All about The Boss's finding his way. Lots of good psychological material. Disappointed it didn't the explosion of his career after an extended depiction of his early struggles. I thought it was setting that up all along, but nope. The main actor looked exactly like Bruce in one scene where he was crying. One of the other actors looked exactly like Donnie Osmond way back in the day. I'll give it a 7 out of 10.

Does the movie act like Born To Run was a one hit wonder and he was on his way to the cutout bin in 1982?

I also hate when they invent some love interest-muse-voice of reason & moral clarity, though obviously it’s done all the time to varying degrees, and like Dylan, Bruce wasn’t going to let them put in anything he didn’t approve of.

Nebraska’s a very interesting story, the actual details probably working much better in a book imo but glad you enjoyed it.

Well, Black Phone 2 has grossed well over double its budget globally so far, so part 3 can’t be far away.

Just saw that Ti West (director of X, Pearl, MaXXXine) is doing A Christmas Carol in 2026 with Depp playing Scrooge.

I ran across someone who'd never heard of Little Miss Sunshine recently, so of course had to force her to watch it. Held up great. Lots of laughs were had

We rewatched LMS last year. It's a really sweet film.

Ooh cool. A personal favorite. I saw 15 versions one year, about 3 years ago.

A House of Dynamite was very good... maybe great.

Can't wait for the sequel in 9 years on Netflix+.
