Doug Polk is making a list of top 20 poker players of all time

Doug Polk is making a list of top 20 poker players of all time and he's taking nominations on Twitter.

Here's a list of 110 players so far:

Considering the type of players that are currently on the list, he should probably make a list of +300 players.

NL 6 Max otb , ragen70 , Linus
Plo galfond , cumicon , Berri

Any list without Sauce123 is not worth having.

-Chip Reese
-Doyle Brunson
-Phil Ivey
-Stu Ungar(The greatest MTT player ever. If you look at the fields, they might be small, but they were all pros.)
-Phil Hellmuth(look at what he's done on the WSOP since he became a pro. You can't shade it.)
-Scott Seiver
-Daniel Negreanu
-Phil Galfond
-Benjamin RYE
-Eric Seidel

I can't do 20. But I think that's an interesting list.

This is very messy.

Dougs video of Michael Mizrachi taking like a hundred coin flips to win the main is the reason this will never work.

Cash & tournament players and other variants cannot be mixed into one list.

That said... clearly cash players especially those with large samples are better than the others.

Hater and who are you a fan of?

Hater and who are you a fan of?

The players who have been crushing forever and some of the new endbosses. Players who dominate more games than just no limit live cash. If Garret was still playing maybe he’d have a spot but he retired.

No limit holdem poker is a four street game.

Not one time

Not some of the time

ALL of the time!

Any variants of the game like flipfest donkaments shouldn't count.

I have big respect for Mr Michael Mizrachi but taking hundreds of flips to b1nk the main is NOT poker.

There is no skill jaming on first or second street.

So many donkeys think just running your equity is somehow poker.

How could one think some donkeys running their equity on first or second street a hundred times in a tournament takes any skill at all.

Compared to a cash game that a balanced player can run bluffs on all four streets.

One game is a flipfest
The other game is maximum poker skill.

We have the data.

We can accurately come up with a list based on actual statistics and not subjective views.

Not huge 100k hand samples.

But samples of like 1500 - 500 hours exist.

So to see who are REALLY the best poker players.

Go to the highroll poker tracker.

Select the top 50

Filter for no limmit holdem

Sort by the most hands.

Then from those top 50 look at who has BB/hour over 5.

You'll quickly see who the real best no limmit holdem players are.

Among people not yet mentioned, I think Benny Glaser definitely deserves consideration in a top 20 list.

I ain't taking no orders from nobody !

if you take a stu Unger and solve his issues addictions ,mental issues is he still a great poker player
like going into the jungle and putting animals in zoo ,where they don't need to kill what they eat.
And things a bit too easy

by SeaKing

Mizrachi ahead of Doyle, Moss, Bobby Baldwin & Bobby Hoff is dumb.

Stu just looked at the cards while they were being dealt and charged them to whatever he wanted they were facedown so nobody knew the difference.

The list has to start with Seidel. If he had beat Johnny Chan the master he’d be a cinch as the goat. Others who are dominant are Seiver, Jungle, and Robl. Online I think it’s Sauce, Galfond, and Doug. Others who come to mind are Ivey, Mizrachi, Antonio, Schullman, Negreanu, Mikita, Fedor, and Linus.
