I didnt give much thought on the title but I wanted to see if people actually took the time to watch the police body cam
The problem for cops is if you run into situations like this a lot and give them more leeway you run the risk of getting hurt,death,etc at a high%. I mean in theory if you ran into these situations 100 times and give the person the benefit of the doubt the odds of getting shot/hurt/etc are basically guaranteed. You have a split second to make a decision and if you wait too long
The cop could have handled this specific situation without putting himself at risk 100 out of 100 times.

It lasted for days I remember. And I couldn't wash my hands at least not with hot water and showering equally painful. And it was really just a small amount of water across the backside of my hand. I couldn't imagine a lot more water across my face and what that would feel like.
Boiling water is no joke though. I'd probably still try to show them in the leg or something though because I do have a heart.

Yeah sure that's an option. My only point is that people in this thread are like "I take baths in boiling water it's fine" and idk those people must be cyborgs or something because it frekkin hurts.

You go to prison, boiling water is the least of your problems.
Boiling water and boiling water/oil mix is a commonly used weapon in prison. When mixed with oil, it sticks to the skin and the skin literally peels off when the victim instinctively rubs the affected area to remove the liquid.

What is the method for boiling a non-trivial quantity?
Usually microwave. In some places you might get your own heater, or in some places you might have equipment to make a "stinger", which is a home-made kettle-like filament (usually used for non-nefarious purposes). But when you hear an inmate has had hot oil thrown on his face, it's almost always the microwave.
I'm not sure if anyone here has ever reheated coffee in a microwave (I haven't), but water needs a nucleation site to boil. If there are no bubbles, it can super-heat to 100% and not boil. When you disturb it, it instantly turns to steam and that is how people get 3rd degree burns.
Same is true of oil, which I think has a lower boiling point than water. Same principle also works for magic tricks when someone takes a corona from the freezer which looks liquid, taps it and it instantly freezes. Liquid needs a nucleation site to turn into a solid or a gas.
And oil is more viscous than water, which means it's harder to form a nucleation site. All this means that you can easily carry a bowl of super-heated oil without arousing suspicion, till you want to use it.
