The "LOLCANADA" thread...again
So what's new?
I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet
Not really. The big one obviously is the less important consumer carbon tax. But the more important industrial carbon tax is still there. There was some pulling the trigger like delaying EV timeline, as expected and probably would have been done by necessity by Trudeau eventually regardless. Outside of those, I'd say the lions share is "status quo", we still have dental and daycare and pharacare and I really mean "Status quo" in that they aren't growing they are sort of frozen at the trudeau levels. Don't get me wrong, this is definitely a departure from the Trudeau era and Trudeau never makes this budget, but still zooming out more things stay the same than change - in fact that would have been true with poilievre as well.
Sad to see a perfectly healthy flock being killed .
Thank goodness these rabid anti-vaxxer nutjobs who defied a totally legitimate cull order after avian flu clearly went through their entire flock killing dozens of animals are not allowed to just defy the order and get away scott free. That would set a terrible precedent for the future. Clearly such people should never be responsible for animals again.

Not sure how you can defend killing perfectly healthy animals. They should be used for research purposes .
Though you don't strike me as a dog person I could be wrong
From your link:
The virus killed 69 of the farm’s ostriches within the last year. Though the remaining flock is said to be displaying no symptoms, CFIA fears they could still be shedding the virus or be the source of further spread of infection to people, livestock and wildlife.
Nobody likes to cull animals. It isn't about whether one is a "dog person" or not ffs. However, when 69 animals die from a deadly disease, it is in the best interest of everybody to do a cull. And you can't just not do that because you are mad at the government, if that was allowed to stand the dangers of repeated offenders would skyrocket. There has to be rule of law here.
The research purposes thing is a silly red herring - i saw a thing a while back with an expert who said they have zero research value.

When these animals are healthy and do not have the bird flu it’s disgusting. Maybe the community arms itself and defends the animals
Will see if we get anymore floor crossings part of me would like to see a majority for 4 years and some stability as Carney has shown he is no Trudeau

Of course these animals all 100% absolutely no questions asked should have been culled from the beginning what with 69 of them dead.
Another conservative MP out - this time resigning not floor crossing. I guess we don't know yet exactly what that means for the vote.
I agree the birds should not be killed at this point, but the owners should be fined into bankruptcy to discourage repeats.
Sadly they killed them all today some of them took up to 4 shots to kill
How any human could do this to healthy animals
Healthy but for an endemic avian flu in the population that killed 69 of them and still could shed to other birds. They all 100% absolutely should have been killed months ago - which is sad but necessary - but the precedent can’t just be that you endanger all of us by refusing sensible and legal cull orders and get away with it, that would set a terrible precedent.
Lozen, are you a vegetarian? Or is it just that ostriches are bigger than chickens that upsets you so?
Ultimately this is a great example of what happens when you walk down the antivaxxer path far too far.

The facts are that no one wanted to even retest these animals to see if they were sick. No I am not a vegetarian but I try to buy my meat and dairy from ethically raised and kill farms. I try to avoid factory farms if I can and of course you just can not.
If you humanely killed these ostriches for food I have no issue
Also note vegetarians are the most hypocritical folks there are as so many animals get killed to farm the crops they eat .
If I was The RCMP officer or whoever to systematically gun these birds down I would refuse just as I could not work in a shelter that euthanizes animals

LMAO, lazy lozen, who loves Trump more than his whole family, pretending he has any empathy. Hilarious.

So you agree with mass slaughter of the animals you eat.
Do you think flocks that are infected with the highly contagious avian flu should be culled in general?
''Pakistani immigrant (Yasir Baig) who caused deadly (Nicole Turcotte) highway crash wins chance to stay in Canada''
Absolute joke of a country.
''Baig took his case to the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD), seeking “special relief” on “humanitarian and compassionate grounds so that he could maintain his permanent resident status and remain in Canada.”
Gets to stay here on ''compassionate grounds'' but **** compassion for the family of the 22 year old girl he killed because of an accident he caused cause he got angry. Dude even fled the scene but ofc we in Canada accept all. Indian criminals, Pakistani killers. It doesn't matter. Everyone is welcome.

I do not agree with factory farming but its a reality. Yes if they were culled originally yes but there are extenuating circumstances

This is normal in our justice system were judges will make the sentence for folks that sexually abuse someone something that will allow them not to be deported .

It's a joke. We got officials from India warning us we're taking in their criminals and we got local judges allowing criminals to stay in Canada who killed Canadian citizens because ''Pakistan sucks''.
Absolutely disgusting. This dude fled the scene for crying out loud. I don't give a **** how bad his life could potentially be in Pakistan, send him the **** back and let him suffer there.

True. Like that they were anti-baxxer nutjobs who hid the avian flu from authorities until neighbours reported it, then let 69 birds die without attempts at quarantine or isolation, letting dead bodies out on the grounds where they get picked over by local wildlife spreading the disease further, refuse all legal orders, lie relentlessly about everything, then get billionaire right wing folks on your side so you pay no costs and no fines and get away Scot free. That kind of extenuating circumstances?
Simple fact: these people should never be allowed to raise animals again.

I was just happy you were not getting mad at Indians again - oh wait I didn’t read to the end.

When Indian government officials tell you that your vetting system sucks and you’re accepting known criminals it’s time to wake up and open your eyes.
I’m sure you’re totally fine with Pakistani immigrants killing Canadians but I’m not. I’m Canada first. You should try it.
