Hero might have nitty image. We've semi-bluffed villain 3+ times, villain folded each time. We've only showed nutted hands when we do showdown.
Effective 500
Villain in co clicks it to 15.
We are in btn w/K♣J♣ iso 3bets to 50.
Villain call.
HU pot 104
Flop T♥6♥3♦
V checks
Hero?
What's our plan vs maniac postflop?
We never cbetting pure air vs this villain right? But if we check back, V will bet whole range on most turns? What's our plan then?

Don't see the problem, assuming we have a villain who will barrel relentlessly and also probably not fold enough to aggression, we can just give up our lowest equity hands.
Here we xb and hope for J, Q, K turns preferably not ♥. Otherwise OK to just give up.
The caveat though is that maniacs will sometimes fold to aggression especially from perceived nits, so those guys should probably get hit with moves when we have some equity. Like draws where we don't care if we have to dump them to a 3bet but can see some turns to continue on if we x/r the flop. While our nut + monster draws should either be calls so they spew stacks when we hit; or we go nuts and try to get stacks in while we have great equity against their range.
If he’s probing every turn then never cbet.
Need a lot of fold equity to continue, and I donβt think you have that with villain calling your 3bet. But if he just really likes seeing flops and will now play fit or fold, a bet seems reasonable.
Iβd check it back and hope to improve. If villain comes donking the turn, you may be able to semi-bluff him again. But if the turns a blank, just let it go.
Thanks to already having the Button and only having the blinds behind us, I think I would prefer a flat preflop as that will often isolate and produce a bigger more playable SPR. And if one of the blinds comes along, whatever, our hand plays fine multiway.
And I would give up on this flop. We haven't gotten much going for us and I'm sure this guy is going to make a stand one of these hands if he's already folded 3+ times to us. We don't have to win every pot we play.

I didn't look at your description of V but assuming its 'maniac' I would just let this one go.
Solvers and so on will tell you this is a triple barrel off probably as the 3-bettor IP but I find maniacs are also usually very stationy...they make big raises but also big calls. So your range really does just have to be TX+ here to continue.
My code:
Flop == check back
if Turn == K or J: eval/call IP
elif Turn != K or J: fold
Else: fold
Edit - read about maniac from other thread - you're describing a whale moreso than a maniac.
I ended up checking back. Since we have like 0 fold equity vs him.
Turn 6
V bets 50
We fold.
I was thinking if we had Ax here, maybe call down. Yet we can't stand much heat on rivers.
But then I realize my checking range is weak vs villain that my calling range becomes very weak on turn as well.
Yet, if we have Tx or better, we need to cbet all the time to get max value?
So I'm flustered on how to play vs villain more efficiently.
This session, I also 3betted villain ip frequently since he opens super wide, yet postflop feels awkward since he has no fold button vs small bets. It's like I'm bloating the pot vs villain yet we only take villain to valuetown and never have pure bluff.
Eventually villain got tired of my 3bets and after losing a huge pot(3bet pot) to me, he decided to change seat and sit behind me.
I'm wondering maybe flatting then playing postflop has more merits than 3bet iso vs villain.
So what preflop 3bet range and flatting range ip would you guys have vs such villain?
What about out of position ranges?
I thought whales are more on the passive side as huge calling stations.
Maniacs = aggro
Maniacs are so crazy that if you flop nut no pair you just call down 3 streets. Hyper aggressive and always getting caught bluffing, but also usually good at getting thin value.
Whales can be aggro or passive but theyβre generally buying in deep / frequently and vpip north of 80.

What's your overall plan against the villain? Normally that's a good 3 bet but is that the plan against this guy? You have a nitty image. Your 3 bet means that this flop is horrible for you. The way he sees is, you have broadway (like you do) AQ, AK or an overpair. This board sucks for you.
You bet? He calls. Any heart, 2, 7, 10 or even just a random low card and he starts barrelling what are you going to do? Call with your king high? You don't even beat ace high.
Personally, I target this guy, just call on the button even though normally its a bad move and see a flop. Then I have all of the suited connectors, any pair and all of the stuff he thinks you have already. Different scenario and if he starts combing, I lost $15.
If he’s truly blasting every turn when checked to, checking flop is kinda perfect. You avoid getting raised off air, and you get to use his aggression against him later. If you cbet here he’s calling with bottom pair or raising with nonsense. Doesn’t accomplish much. Just pot control and take your equity
