100/200 AKo top top facing flop raise
Hi all,
100/200 limit mix playing hold em. V is experienced limit pro leans tight. I am a fish to him. I tend to fold a lot he’s probably noticed but I don’t think that means he tries to bluff me. At showdown he usually has it.
We open AKo hc utg he calls co two other callers sb and bb.
$800 pot.
KT8ss. I bet $100 he raises I call heads up. 3!…?
($1200)
Turn Jc. I check he bets I call. Raise?
($1600)
River 9h. I check he bets. I don’t know if he bets KQ at this point or missed spades or AQss. We are getting very good odds. We lose to a lot of his semi bluffs like J9 QJ. KJ too and Kt/88/TT. He thinks I’m nitty so my hand should look pretty face up.
Thanks,
DT

I 3bet flop - the hand plays much easier that way. That said, I prefer your line to any line that involves raising a big street or folding.
3b flop
i doubt he has many missed random spades combos after he calls next to act pf. he range is heavily weighted to medium broadway hands that are all over this board.
thus as played fold river you are near bottom of range here, you could have lots of Qx and two pair, and he doesnt care.

You don't know if he bets the nuts or the second nuts when checked to on the river? Did you miss that any Q makes a straight, or make a mistake in the hand history?
As played if youβre going to fold every time in this scenario with your image theyβre going to run all over you.

Itβs mixed game and he is perceived as a nit. He needs to hold on.
Folding river is probably worse than not 3beting preflop.
I agree it seems something is mistaken in the HH given the commentary about river ranges, so I will just agree that we need to be sticky in LHE and I would be erring toward three betting OOP on the flop here. In LHE, we will somewhat commonly just call a bet or raise in position on the flop so we can raise the big bet street, but when you are OOP it's a lot harder to pull that off as a check/raise, especially on wet boards because either the turn will be a scare card for you and now you're overplaying your hand or if it's a safe card, villain may be checking back a lot because they were going for some sort of free-card type play on the flop.
By the way, I'd reconsider your priors w/r/t villain being an experienced LHE pro because such a player would almost never cold call your raise in the CO. This is a 3b/fold situation in LHE absent some pretty extreme exploitative adjustments.
