NCAA Football Coaching Carousel

Donβt forget how much Kiffin is STILL hated in Tennessee, for the way that ended.
They renamed the waste water treatment plant (sewage) after him.
I'm too lazy to look up the source, but someone said this weekend that "Kiffin is the only person I know who would burn a bridge while standing on it."
Sums it up pretty good, f these coaches.
But why
Boy does that exit interview of Kiffin's sound like Saban, voice and words and gestures. He, granted, is an opportunist ... and so are almost all of the rest of the coaches. Including Saban.
I think it's bad of Ole Miss to not allow him to coach in the playoff. Smacks of just sour grapes. Sour grapes to the point of, "Yeah, we'll decrease our chances of winning the title to shyt on the guy that made us what we are." Agree that "See you in Death Valley" would have been a great parting shot once they refused him the right to coach on thru the season.
He did a spectacular job at Ole Miss, and unless there were blatant lies behind the scenes between the two, Kiffin and Carter, it seems unwarranted the reaction to his leaving. Coaches move around. Hello. They should have let him coach thru the playoff and then build a statue to him. They've only had one coach remotely as successful as him.
hate to see Will Stein leave UO...he was really good and had a couple of years seeing how upper tier programs are built from someone in the Saban/Smart tree
kentucky should be optimistic
Yeah I'm pretty thrilled with the hire. Our big QB recruit of the future was down to Oregon and UK, and has already said he is sticking with UK now. Will be rooting for Oregon in the playoffs now.
Hard to believe 6 years ago he was the OC at the high school that is the rival to the one my kids go to
Penn st is trying to get BYUβs coach? Seems like an awfully weird fit. Where do they go if he says no? They must be panicking
Lolololololololol
psu that smell is nitany thing to worry about
frankly think it's probably just a burnt jimmy on the coaching carrousel starting motor so annoyed being caught flat footed and somehow lapped by the field lines
Multiple Rebs players saying on X Kiffinβs statement not what was said/heard in the locker room.
So Will Stein's mom and aunt have a cake shop out of Louisville. So yeah, their website isn't taking anymore online orders at the moment...
Lol Penn st again
Chronic victims and attention whores are gonna ... Well, you know.
It seems that Kiffin even left Juice, the social media star dog, that he claimed was his in Oxford.
There's a great article on ESPN.com about the Kiffin exit, by Schlabach I think, called "Lane Kiffin's Final Days at Ole Miss and His Move to LSU."
Some priceless highlights: they were checking the rowdy fans for anti-aircraft missile launchers at Oxford Airport when he flew out; Ole Miss has an alumnus former baseball player with a son name Bodacious Ignatius; LSU opens their SEC schedule at Ole Miss next year; Kiffin's wife was booed and jeered and called who-knows-what; the Ole Miss brass was more concerned with Kiffin using the playoff as a glory filled advertisement than they were with winning the National Championship.
Kiffin reminds me a bit of Chevy Chase. You know, he's Lane Kiffin and we're not; you people just don't understand this level of cool. He should come up with the quote, "I'm doing the Lane Thing right now" to reporters.
Rick Pitino had a good comment about it all, saying there is something wrong with the football schedule when you can't coach the post-season for the team you've led all year. Of course it's happened in basketball too -- "Frieder is out of here right now," says Bo -- but it is more presumed in basketball that courted coaches are coaching thru the NCAA Tournament. I stand by the opinion that they should have let him coach the playoff.
is it within the realm of possibility psu has some nfl coach lined up and just can’t act on it yet?
I think Mike Tomlin to Penn St would go over like a lead balloon.
Here for the lols though.
I hear Hugh freeze is available
