Former Motocross savage! Freak accident led me to poker!
21y Scandinavian kid here, probably the exact opposite to your average poker player.
-Im pretty dumb all things considered
-Barely managed to finish basic school math over 3 years highschool.
-Promised myself to never read a book or study ever again after graduation
So i was basicly a full blown motocross savage who just bought a house in my hometown, having a well payed full time job. (hard labour, long hours, nights, weekends etc.)
But a freak motocross accident turned everything around, my knee/leg was so ****ed up it wasnt even sure it could be fixed at all. But an obv endboss at knee surgery performed some magic (almost a year after accident, i was basicly having 1 leg for whole last year/beginning this year).
So i couldnt really do anything, i couldnt work because of the physically demand needed for the job.
So actually my gf suggested that i could play poker just to pass the time, and i guess that probably saved me. I probably would have drank myself to sleep every night, doing heavy quantities of drugs until i couldnt handle it anymore and swallowed the gunbarrel in the garage or something.
So i gonna summarize my poker career in broad terms so i won't get to long of intro.
-Started playing a little more then a year ago, don't really consider myself as a pokerplayer and always seen it as temporary.
-I was getting payed every month by the insurance company so didnt really care if i busted whole "bankroll" then i would just try to find something else to do.
- After a slow 1,5-2 months playing lowstakes without any progress at all, i basically felt *** this and try to spin it up or bust the roll.
-If its time to hit an insane rush flying through stakes "using the "10-15BI" rolls on tables management it was a perfect timeing. So i just keep playing and playing and after couple of weeks settling down and realizing whats happened. Im sitting there playing maximum allowed tables on unibet mixxing PLO/NLH 100-400 with priority on 400 probably 16-20hours a day.
-And here we are a little less then a year later, toned down the degeneracy a ton when i was considering starting to take poker atleast abit more seriously.
-Been grinding NL50-NL400 last months even well overrolled just taking the best games possible and try to adapt along the way, im pretty honest to myself and keeping it real and realizing the other regs are miles better then me. But somehow i still manage to winning in the games.
-I barely have any knowledge about poker at all/whatsoever
-I have 0 minutes of pokertheory and solvers which i prob wouldnt even understand at all
-I have just been playing, try to play similar to players who i think plays well and are big winners in the games
So now im playing the uno reverse card im actually gonna give it a actual try to learn about the game, grinding my way upp through the stakes (nl20€) start then get enough sample to analyze the game and getting somewhere. And having a possible winrate on the sample then move up to the next stake. Simple as that
Doing it publicly also so i can prove that im hopefully not just a r3teard who luckboxed a bankroll and only plays megawhales
I'm using HM3 and basicly just been importing the hands and using that std HUD that follows just to get a overview so i can colorcode the players properly.
Todays must DOs! [ ] Getting a proper HUD or atleast some help ontheway
[ ] Take a closer look at the stats/popups/windows whatever and maybe get a bit on the way to understand a little more then the PFR/VPIP/3b 😃
So if anyone got any tips or things that i need to think about, please let me know i happily would get any help i can get because its uncharted territory for me!
I will start the grind after dinner etc and probably 15-16 tabling through the evening/night and post the graph and/or any riddicolus hands or just some examples of what type of players we are up against!

And now we are getting started, ipoker is the network which i somehow forgot to mention!.
And i might aswell post what i consider is my biggest strenght, and probably the only reason i can keep it competitive.
For someone who is really fked up in most aspects of life, poker seems to be exactly the opposite for me. I dont really tilt at all, and the badbeats, wins and results doesnt affect me at all. I dont really care, and usually i just check a couple of times a month just out of curiosity or if someones asks me. I don't think im the best to ever do it, and try to prove my point getting OOL just to show whos the table captain. I leave that prestige for the other regs who actually seems to focus on that instead of the fact that you're dusting off 15 buyins after loosing 2 flips in a row a couple of orbits later 😃
And many regulars seems to have major tilt/prestige problems and thats one of the things i really think evens out their clear edge against me. Im probably getting owned in bunch of spots when everything is going good for them, but many tables and loooong hours im just waiting for those free stacks.
What are you doing with HUD stats if you don't know what they mean/what they should be?
Well atm its just the basic one VPIP/PFR/3bet to just roughly sort players so i can colorcode them properly. Yeah, I guess it's unclear what your process is. Your color coding based on...what? And then you're doing nothing with those colors/notes? Seems backwards, shouldn't you learn what people should be doing before you start marking them with colors so that you can be sure you're marking them correctly and in a way that will help you exploit them?

Yeah probably thats the next step i guess. I just use 3 colors atm so nothing to advanced (fish/reg/nit).
Had to postpone the start to last evening due to food poisoning, was about 1hours into the session couple of days ago when its started to pouring from every opening.
Not really the funniest of start though, but how fun would it be without a challennge 😃? I just kept playing until it was fewer then 10 tables.

Sooner or later people need to start calling some rivers, i do understand them to some extent because people at NL20 doesnt seem to bluff rivers at all, just blast 2 barrels and give up

Another one in the books, pretty boring action overall which seems to be what's up in the NL20 streets. I probably need to adjust and start overfolding rivers, because like i mentioned before people really dont bluff. Not a biggie, but probably a few to many buyins torched stationing down. I probably put in one last long session tonight/tomorrow and then summarize the NL20 streets, then its time for NL50 and hopefully some more interresting poker in general.
And if someone is interrested in some numbers, probably far away from being a crusher even at NL20. But being consistent and just getting those hands in, the results will be somewhat decent.
Sample so far, pretty much 16 tabling full sessions getting in like 1,2k+ hands/Hour or something
