busted 2-7mix limits
took an aggro route vs a noob w j9764 in nl and he pushed his chips in so fast i thought he was dealt a pat 7 or 8
i pat oop and he pats 96 behind

owais eliminated me when we both drew two in triple and he improved to wheel and i raised him w 86 draw
i was drawing dead barring counterfeit outs and i squeeze black no side
he had 3s so i hoped it was 3s so its foul hand
obv its 3c

cant play these mixed tournaments no more first place was 30x so it was kind of worth it today

But I go in w/o game plan you have to make hands and it's really hard to say what your defending range should be when you have two bets three bets vs five bets or seven bets

and now having had deep runs in nlh tours id like to play more big field nlh tours where 1st is 100+x

So my 400/800 session was technically the highest I played mainly due to the 8k cap. Normally in the 3/6 the split pot is 4/8 anyways but in 4/8 obv everything was 4/8 and cap goes up 33%.

I started the session off by defending T963 in bb in nl2 and paired 6 and decided to check n lose.

Then in bigO, i limp utg A2457 w nut hearts and Judah raise CO to 600, lyle flats sb i only call instead of minclick or something to reduce spr mainly cuz i am not familiar w the sizing (i prepped before the session but on the spot it was still hard due to lack of experience - $100/200 w 300 ante and 8k cap, i coulda click to 1100 so pot is 3800 w 6900 behind to bet...) anyway, i flop the world on 3h4h9c but flop check around, i bet 1200 into 2300 on 8h turn and they both fold.

Next hand i played was in badacey where i defended bb w A568h9h w 8dugi vs iirc utg open. i pitch 89 catch 2h but freeroll missed vs a one card draw 8-8.

Then i pulled a little move in plo and bluffed off a couple thousand to judah, he had kk36s on 9927J. I asked stephanie chung about it but she is more adept at deep stack plo as opposed to 40 bb cap - but peter did provide some insights on short stacking, obv i knew it, it's just hard to compare a $100/200 game to 5/5/rock...

Next hand i played was in deuce where i 3! LJ w 7752 to Adi's utg open and Judah flats small. He donks flop n turn w 1 card draw and a made hand, i raise both times with 2457 and #4, dragged a 16 big bet pot.

Then there was an O8 pot which I played overtight i suppose bb v sb v button and lost value.

Then in bigO i opened A2447ds on button and trapped bb on A35 flop but didn't get much value.

Then in badugi i folded a 3 card 6 draw on turn vs lyle's made 2345r!

Then comes the double board O8 bomb pot which I did a lot of analysis w a few ppl after the session. Roughly, I got scooped nut flush ok low vs lyle's straight flush nut low. It was a 4 way all in on flop.

Then I 3/4ed Judah to recoop a lil money in the orbit but decided to quit cuz running Ace high flush into straight flush was quite frustrating and I wanted to leave before tilt creeps in. I later texted Erik to explain which is unnecessary but just outta courtesy but Monette was waiting anyway so he took my seat.

I didn't get to play the day prior but I am ready to get in the mix and battle. I am really happy w my performance - just unfortunate that I took the wrong decision in the O8 hand - folded when I coulda won and in the double board hand - gambled when I got scooped.

In the end, I won $0 and lost $0 which is absolutely insane.

There is always a lil demon in my head thinking back to this one time in August where I ran this into this then left with only $7k...some short handed disaster involved.

So this time I give myself an 8 out of 10 performance, really one of the best, if not the best session I've played in a long while. I feel I am getting more comfortable and one of these days, the parlay will hit!

I have been debating for the past two hours and now the late reg has closed, I had decided not to go to wynn for the 1600 wpt o8, save the money for a good meal and for the wsop $1500 for a 260k payout instead of 60k payout today.

i bought wizard of oz on amazon prime for $8 and it turns out i coulda just started a free trial like i did now w prime and watch it for free

following my 8 out of 10 4/800 performance, i had another nice outing at 40/80 - as Ted always tell me "winning begets winning".
but i did lose 2 bets in the end - have two badacey hands to think about.

i dont have his ego but he certainly has been crushing non stop. I dont care whos doing better than me (i mean i care to the extent of understanding the meta game aka leveling war); i care how i am doing better than i was a couple months ago. It's truly Me VS Me. I keep improving and i will show that I do belong.

When a tight player 3b you from the sb, and draws one, do you really think he has worse than a 7? Because if he has a 7 dugi or better (which he always does), you're committing yourself to putting in 2.5 big bets drawing to maybe half. Lots of times you're drawing to none. Seems bad.

When was the last time you had non-poker income? Fully funded grad school doesn't count.

What's the rent split like? Has she finished paying you those 13 dimes?

hahahhaha. "poker pro" as a term is thrown around so loosely that it's a disgrace to be called one.

In fact one of the lines in the meeting was them telling me - "Do you really think you can keep your status by paying us $8000 a quarter? The answer is no."

They don't believe me when i say i can finish and rightly so. I tell them directly that some of these stuff being worked on may not have an answer, which is obv the truth to a lot of questions in theory world for math; and the paper i can publish has zero merit. It's like Leonard H going on radio in the show Big Bang Theory and saying that high energy physics is a dead end. I agree, but you can't say it.

At this point, it's so hard to care - and it's so hard to explain. Degrees, what a joke. And hey, those freshman girls can proudly tell their parents now they successfully served the sexual harasser justice. But obv, not being US citizen is very very very tricky. There's a whale at 25/50 NLH wants to give me a job so I can stay in the US but kept going back and forth :shrug:

At the end of the day - if you've shined, you've had a worthy life. But I don't want my beam to only have had flashed a couple times @ 5k plo; @ 4-800; I wish to quietly go through more days w gleams, w bright futures ahead.

i had thoughts when i got scammed in 2021 in the chinese runescape ripoff game; also when i got accused of sex harassment at work; also when i got violently attacked by that bitch lady in sacramento. there are so many scumbags in the world - and people will committ suicide to prove they are right; and if i had killed myself to prove a point to uc davis it would have been stupid but gladly i had good people around me.

however not everyone is that lucky, case in point, poor girl; so... play my best at the wpt 3k nlh 3 mill gtd and hope i run well.

just don't have ego. i could vanish at any point but i do believe that my biggest supporter (aside from that girl whose name i tattooed on me) is out there silently watching my development and hoping for the best for me. Hang in there buddy.
