Happy birthday!!

I perfected my peanut sauce today. I finally have the ideal recipe.

1/2 cup natural peanut butter
2 cloves minced garlic
1 Tbsp grated ginger
2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
1 Tbsp rice vinegar (I like lime juice for this too, but was out today)
2 tsp sriracha
1 Tbsp brown sugar
2 Tbsp canned coconut cream
1/4 cup warm water to bring everything together

Mix up several hours in advance and let sit in a jar at room temp to allow flavors to blend. Toss with hot spaghetti, thinly sliced sweet bell peppers, scallions, and cilantro. Garnish with chopped peanuts. Optional use for leftovers: cold spaghetti, bell peppers, snow peas, and sliced cabbage tossed with sauce.

Happy birthday EB

Haunted by my choice of a full sodium soy sauce.

Haunted by my choice of a full sodium soy sauce.

That will teach you not to tempt the soy gods...

Low sodium tastes the exact same

Used my leftover peanut sauce in my lunch today...

Boiled spaghetti, stirred some of the pasta water into the sauce since it was cold from the refrigerator to get it nice and runny, sliced a bell pepper, drizzled it with sesame seeds, cilantro, basil, and a little toasted sesame oil.

Voila!

Walking my dog at a park that encircles a large-ish lake after 2 days where my schedule didn't allow sufficient time for good exercise for my pup.

There are about 40 geese milling about on the grass next to the paved path and pup is tugging hard on the leash so I decide to indulge her and give her all 16 feet of slack on her retractable leash.

She joyously chases after the geese, who all scatter and reconvene safely on the lake.

A lady approaches and is talking to me so I remove my headphones.

Lady: Why would you do that?

Me: Well my pup had a lot of energy.

Lady: Don't you think about other animals?

Me (gesturing to pup): Well she's my animal.

Lady: Good for you!

She stormed off and I put my headphones back on.

On a scale of "what the heck is the matter with you, bolt? Why are you such an a-hole?" .... to.... "Lady, mind your own business.".... where does this land?

I can see both sides

Geese can go **** themselves.
They will make a walkway unwalkable in five minutes. I often let my dogs chase geese away from walking areas.

Google says illegal.

Google can also go **** itself. There is a company called Goose Busters and if you call them they will show up with a border collie who will explain to the geese that they need to goose it up elsewhere. It's a valid form of goose control.

also "legal" can go **** itself.

and so can that lady

I generally am on the side of nature, and wild animals, but geese are obnoxious AF! they deserve a taste of their own medicine. and it sounds like your dog was safely on leash, and there wasn't any danger to the geese.

I agree with all of that. Geese on a golf course is a dangerous (scary?) situation. One goose would attack straight at the privates... You are one chomp away from a plastic surgeon appointment.

The geese around here are vaguely nice.

Pretty sure I win vs goose 100% of the time with a bag full of golf weapons at hand.
