KK facing massive heat preflop.
KK facing massive heat preflop.

KK facing massive heat preflop.

2/2 live 5 to call 8 handed.

Some limpers.
We pick up KKs9sQ in btn opens to 20. Maybe this is a sign of weakness, we didn't pot.
some callers.
Utg(tag) limp/3bets to 120, effective 800ish.
Aggro reg in mp coldcalls???? effective 600ish.
Hero calls and pray for Kxx flops.

SB(passive player) jams for like 500.

UTG only calls?????? No he never has AAxx here. He's shipping AAxx here every single day.
Aggro reg jams, he's probably thinking pot committed, no he doesn't have AAxx here as well. Probably low cards?
Hero????

Sb can have AAxx or something good which might have us dominated.

We should be ahead of UTG+MP but we are behind/dominated by SB's range.
Is this a jam? Or fold?

I assume you have everyone covered? So you need to put in another 680 to win 2700 if my math is correct, which means you need 25% equity. Against 3 top 10% hands, you have 21% equity. Against two top 10% hands and AAxx, you have 18% equity. So probably a fold. You have to make opponents' ranges pretty wide to get the required call equity.

Edit: leaving the above response for now, but now that I think about it, the existence of the side pots changes things a lot, as you only have to put in 380 for the main pot, and the money you're putting in above that has fewer opponents and not the opponent most likely to have AA, which puts you in much better shape. Might be a jam.

Edit 2: I think it's a jam if I'm doing the math right. Side pot 2 will have $400; side pot 1 $300; and main pot $2000. Your equity against a top 10% but non-AA hand in SP2 is 60%, or $240. For SP1 against two top 10% but non-AA hands, it's 40%, for $120. And with even 18% equity in main pot, that's $360. So your total equity is $720, and you need to put in $680, so stick it in. If there's any chance SB has something other than AA, or that two players have AA, the math gets even better. Plus, you came to gamble, right?

I think sb has aces very often but I like flipping if it’s close. And it’s close.

In game my logic is like this say sb has aakx and utg has akxx and then they also have spade draws we are like drawing dead??

So SB called your raise to 20, and then 4! jammed?

That’s one possibility sure. Utg might be more likely than an average hand to have a king, maybe, but sb is less likely due to having 2 aces. Aggro guy probably less likely too given our proximity blockers (assuming he has a rundown often). Think positive Dango lets flop a set gutter bdfd gambooool.

Lol, we folded in game. At that time I was like I rather have 4568 or 9tjq type hand in such gamble situation.

Turns out Sb had KKxx double suited

Utg the tag had ATxx ds, maybe he picked up a read on us or he wanted to play a 3bet pot. He definitely was tilted that night.
Later on we've played another session with him, he was sitting directly behind us, 0 3bets from him vs us.

Aggro guy mucked.

Board was hearts and sb won with flushes.

UTG won side pot with hitting a pair of tens.

That’s a wild limp raise vs a nit iso.

Agreed a rundown is better than KK in this spot.

Always pot pre if you raise.

Dunno what to do now. I'd go broke.

I probably would’ve folded with Q9 but beat him into the pot with JT.

Very strange jam by SB but he must’ve thought UTG would 3!. Widens his range from AAxx thought.

Close, depends how tilted I am. Probably folding
