Congrats to JUICY KEWCHI!

He had to fight through a syndicate of 5 on the Christmas games, all but one would have gone down in flames otherwise.

He probably made a bit more hedging on the Falcons this week, I'm guessing $300k+.

Galen Hall had 2 of the winning 5 entries for a share of $7.487 Million.

Apparently, he had 50 entries among runners, friends, proxies, etc. which is legal. Some syndicates had 100 entries.

Poker needs to bring back the freeze out format. Online poker and live you can fire all these entries. This isn't poker anymore just straight gambling to build a big stack to win. Feels like a $3rebuy on poker stars where u go for the glory. What happened here and how did this game of tournament poker become this way?

This is the $1000 per entry Circa Survivor NFL contest. Poker players dominated the contest is why I posted it here.

The poker players are great and they have been around for more than 10 years. I am talking about the entity of who runs the tournament whether live or online poker. There isn't really a freeze out tournament anymore. The players can rebuy within whatever the tournament structure is I get that. I have no issue with the players it is their money they can play how they want and fire as many bullets as they want. It would be nice to see a freeze out tournament or maybe just 1 rentry to level the playing field for the small guy who just wants to take a shot. For the working man weekend warrior type player so he can play and have a chance. When Jeff Boski is firing 8 bullets or Negranu the average poker player gets screwed over and is at a huge disadvantage. This is just gambling now not poker.

This isn't a poker tournament, it is a season-long NFL picks competition where you pick one team every week and are eliminated from the competition if your team loses. If you have multiple entries, you can pick different teams with different entries so you will likely have at least some of them survive pretty deep.

Being part of a syndicate is a HUGE advantage.

It allows the syndicate to make plays that individually they would not make.

You can see my writeup on this in the Sports Betting forum. The syndicate formed for the Christmas week gained them about 20% in EV. As it turned out it saved their hide because the Commanders lost, which would have been the play for 4 of the 5 eventual syndicate members had no syndicate been formed.

It was either the Somerville team (Juicy Kewchi) or the Galen Hall team (Kick your knees up) that both had Minnesota in the final week, that made the huge hedge bet on Green Bay +355 for a $700,000 bet.

I get into the hedge details more in the SB thread, but those w/o Vikings should have bet Vikings, because the payout goes up 50% if the Vikings lose.

And of course JUICY K and KICK YOUR KNEEES UP should hedge w/ Packers.
