Shut the hell up about the SEC!

Shut the hell up about the SEC!

This is why you'd have to pick Miami over Ole Miss. As the cliche goes, iron sharpens iron. Ole Miss has played no one all year. Miami plays in a real conference. They've been tested multiple times. They're ready for the fight!

FCS Championship tonite - go Cats!
remember, in the season opener MSU hung 13 more points on Oregan than TT did in the orange bowl

Scoring TDs are hard. Ask Bama.

Not sure I've ever seen such domination through ~40 minutes flip so completely to shook. I half expect Montana St to actually run away at any moment...

what a tail of two halves, now headed to OT
MSU with 7 false start penalties, the last one on a punt

Whittingham retains Underwood.

Whittingham retains Underwood.

I expected this, but I wasn't gonna panic if Underwood hit the portal. We would've figured something out. I mean the final 4 teams all have portal QBs so in this day and age there's always a way. Plus Underwood is still in the larva stage of college QBs. It isn't clear what he will become. I believe in him. He certainly has a lot of talent, but if he busted would anyone here be shocked? I think the telltale sign will be how he performs in the first month of the 26 season. By the end of September, I will certainly be ready to rush to judgment whether that's right or not.

Sends a strong clear message to the program at large & potential recruits and their families at least. This guy’s an adult, not an insecure fly by night climber like Kiffin or Kid Killer.

BTW I’m climbing on the bandwagon for as long as Whitt’s there.

Baugh back to UF πŸ˜€

Former Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby, the top player in the NCAA transfer portal, is committing to Texas Tech, Sorsby told ESPN on Sunday.

Sorsby's decision comes in the wake of his visits to Lubbock, Texas, on Friday and LSU in Baton Rouge on Saturday -- and after the Red Raiders' aggressiveness in the transfer portal led to the school's first Big 12 title.

For ~5 million.

for those unable to watch the game last night,
sit back, relax and have some ill and noisy special false start tacos while giving this wonder in nashville a gander

No ties for Texas in the 1969 title year, the year that kind of put college football on the map in terms of major television events. All rout wins going into the Game of the Century at Arkansas. It had a near mystical feel to it for sure, but two years later Nebraska/OU was off the charts for surrealism.

There's been a few games since that were close as far as set up for the game. Forgotten is the Nebraska/Florida '96 title game because of the rout that happened (one of Spurrier's mega explosive teams and undefeated with all rout wins ... but we just didn't know Nebraska was going to rush for 500 yards and utterly dominate both lines of scrimmage); also the Texas/USC "In-Vince-able" title game was a mega set up; the Alabama/Georgia title games were close; the Alabama/Clemson series was close; 2006 Ohio State/Michigan with both undefeated was epic; Fla St/Miami series was super epic but don't think they ever played at the end or near end for the title or de facto title; I guess one Notre Dame/Miami game could go in there with ND winning it 31-30 with I think a 7-0 turnover advantage; a few Notre Dame/Alabama bowls in the early 70s. That's it for me ... games with a religious feel.

I'm still taking the 1971 Nebraska/Oklahoma game as the GOAT game.

IF IU had played Alabama for the national title like the good ole days.

LOL AI re Texas 1969.

Good for him.

But god damn, college athletics are the ****ing wild wild west right now.

Being a lol student athlete is a vocation--not an avocation.

TIL my new translating headphones use bone-conducting in my (and the other person’s) jaw to more accurately judge what we’re saying and will keep updating my firmware as their LLMs improve and get more regional/dialecty with no subscription or upgrade fees.

I was pretty surprised, but not nearly as surprised as hearing “Ty Simpson will be a first round draft pick.” and that NFL general managers were the ones saying this. I don’t watch much nfl, but assume this means the Olines have evolved to never allowing any pressure at all such that his little “run backwards slowly” instinct won’t matter? In that case, congrats!

any qb should hop and pop to that dropback spot as possibly quick increasing chance of front foot passes while fundamentaly establishing timing and predictable asyncronicity for clearing within the tree routes shown on o-line property maps

still perplexed to this day geniuses put upon us newly discovering a butterfly speciously named t.simpson plays like he has lept adoring fans, mom, and arch defenders his entire life

several little puzzles in the above paragraph duo for those interested

Hmm…unfortunately my headphones do not have a “poet-to-impudent nitpicker” mode. Closest I can find is “ beatnik-to-bourgeoisie capitalist pig”:

A high-performing quarterback must optimize his dropback velocity to maximize the efficiency of front-foot deliveries. This technical proficiency secures the requisite timing and strategic "predictable asynchronicity" necessary to exploit the route trees mapped within our offensive line’s proprietary territory. It remains a marvel of market efficiency that our scouting department has identified such a rare asset in T. Simpson; he operates with the seasoned poise of a man who has managed a massive portfolio of adoring stakeholders and defensive liabilities his entire life.

To which I respond; Oh yeah?!?!?

This whiny “I have a cracked rib, boo-hoo” guy has exactly 15 career starts, 6 of the first 7 were good but the last 8 were meh, and the second he faced real pressure down the stretch, his accuracy regressed and his decision-making faltered. Including just giving up on our best receiver. Basically a little film = he was cracked. I mean I was ready to lol at the school that lured him in the portal, if a team takes him in the first round I’m ‘a have to start betting the nfl. Good riddance.

Man, Miami just won on the line of scrimmage. Just dominated

Yes they did, let's do it again. Go CANES!

by FellaGaga-52 m

Fla St/Miami series was super epic but don't think they ever played at the end or near end for the title or de facto title;

Wide Right 1. #2 Canes @#1 FSU.

Miami comes back from 16-7 down at FSU on November 16th to win 17-16 for the de facto title.

Canes beat Nebraska by 22 for their 4th title.

That season Miami beat #10 Houston by 30, #9 PSU by a TD in other high profile games.

The War & Treaty are awesome. They did the anthem on a MNF game not long ago.

Solid B
