Mental health? Pman is a known gambling addict, gambling is bad for his mental health but he won’t stop due to the addiction. Luckily, he’s also so lazy, his gambling is limited, which is a weird combination because a lot of the true gambling addicts I’ve known/met work extremely hard in one way or another to stay in action or try to live a normal middle class life despite thei

To my knowledge he hasn't asked for money in this thread at least.

I have never and will never ask for money. I've been staked and I'm lifetime profitable on stakes for myself and backers. I do get some sh*t for selling to the main at 1.2 in 2023 after my 2nd place employees event finish, which looking back on is justified. I wasn't ready for a 10k. But nobody just gives me money.

There's alot of truth in there. I guess i want to say thanks for reading my thread. This has been a what, 5 year journey for me? I've changed as a person. I feel good about life and I'm not sure why you think my world view is atrocious. I'm doing the best i can. But I do appreciate your 2 cents.

How does your volume look so far this year?

by pmanprays m

If you were me, WWYD?

Get a job. And I don't mean that in the pejorative "You need to wake up at 5am and stop smoking the reefer" way that the snarkers talk to wind you up, I mean on a human level, you need to be able to live and provide for yourself. Someone mentioned that your win rate + volume wasn't nearly enough to support yourself even if everything went right last year, and you replied "YOLO". Yeah, THAT'S THE POINT! You only live once. You punted the first ~30 years, if you punt the next 30 barely barely scraping by and doing 5 different odd part time jobs (how can you pet sit without a car?), where does that put you?

If you're single and don't get any fiduciary support from family, that means that every expense is on you. I don't know where in Vegas you live, but I know Vegas real estate and if we assume that you live in a not-great part of town and have zero consumer debt, I figure you still need around 3k/month to live. That's assuming you have some sort of ACA-type insurance that you buy on the open market, and we all know that the price on that is going to go up this coming year. So 36k/year AFTER taxes, if we assume 25% of your income goes to taxes (what with federal, self employment tax, all that stuff my accountant deals with), that means that you need to make 48k from poker in 2026. Just to live. Nothing gets saved, nothing gets bought, no car or vacations. If we assume you have a 20% ROI in MTTs, that means you need to play 240k worth of MTTs in 2026. If you work 5 days a week that's $960 in buyins every day. And I'm going to guess that if you have a ~20% ROI in MTTs, that you probably can't play much higher than 50s on soft sites/apps because your skill likely isn't high enough to warrant that ROI in higher games. So if you play 25s-50s, somewhere around there, your ABI is prob around 35? So you need to play 25-30 games a day, every day, 5 days a week. And stay focused in every one, and be able to handle potential downswings without needing to drop down. And study.

It seems like if that's something that you could do, you'd be doing it/have done it. I can only speak from my own lived experience, and the experiences that I've witnessed first hand from friends and peers, but when we moved to Vegas to give playing full time a go, you couldn't pry us away from the tables. 60 hour weeks were light weeks. We were grinding nearly from the minute we woke up until we passed out. Going out was limited to days where we busted from everything before we were tired enough to pass out. The idea of not grinding all day every day, 6-8 tables at a time was so foreign that it wouldn't make any sense to us. Our brains were wired wrong, so poker made sense. And like obviously SICK BRAG for me playing too much poker in my 20s, but I say that to say that I don't understand how anyone could legitimately play poker professionally without that mindset because that's what carries you through the shitty times to get to some semblance of the long run. This isn't like an insurance job where if you aren't feeling too hot you just go in and close your door and pretend to be busy, if you don't play with near 100% focus, you don't make money. And a lot of the times even when you DO play with near 100% focus you don't make money.

So yeah, if I were you I'd get a job. Something to give you some sort of stability, at least financially. Playing poker part time where you aren't sweating the results is so much better than playing full time it's not even funny. And if you're good, you still make money, it's just extra money that you can use to buy a car or take people out on dates, or go on vacation, or save up for a handful of WSOP shots over the summer.

Inaugural episode of my new podcast. Enjoy!

Ugghh, no comment.

You said you do video editing as a side hustle for money? This last video is extremely low effort and i looked through your channel and can say the same about the other videos. I'm not trying to come off super offensive, I'm just making the observation that I think your main life leak seems to be just lack of effort in whatever you do whether its poker, studying, videos, or even working a job.

Im not trying to bust your balls again on this but this thread shows how hard poker is mentally... whether your overthinking or underthinking the circumstances

I know where you are coming from with the Sales mindset of pick yourself up and just be happy, but I dont think that works well in poker or Sales actually either if you keep doing the same thing or you dont bring your A-game (maybe you should get into Sales? seems like the meta now a days and it does suit you well!)

Rolled high bro already gave you great advice, i think something else you missed about life and especially i noticed from americans is that People have ego everywhere right or left, and guess what?

You want to play against people who have ego at the tables unless they can afford to have ego, same reason why you or people intentionally deal with egotisical people in real life...

To my knowledge he hasn't asked for money in this thread at least.

This thread and his Twitter exist for him to build a player profile so he can get staking, which is him asking for money. He’s down five figures in low stakes live cash games in Vegas and had one tournament score 2 years ago. Anyone remember Pman’s blackjack and sports betting binges in here that he blamed on alcoholism? He doesn’t seem to have the urge to drink anymore but he is sure still lighting money on fire gambling sober or stoned.

It doesn’t take a doctor to realize he has a gambling problem, even if he wasn’t a compulsive gambler (he is) he cannot win and cannot earn a living through gambling. It is even documented on his vlog, terrible cash play, punting his stack in the WSOP main event, casually shoving 22 all in because it’s his last hand at a cash game, playing a -EV Wheel of Fortune Collector’s edition slot machine and then complaining that the free games won’t retrigger despite retriggers being incredibly rare in that game.

Yes, he lacks the proper amount of studying to be a winning gambler but even if he did study hard, he has no control of himself in the heat of the moment and cannot make the correct decisions when it counts. Pman knows this and is why he doesn’t study hard, he knows he’s a lost cause and just wants to satisfy his need to gamble in any way possible.

Would you prefer a black screen? It's a podcast.

Please stay on topic, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

And there it is folks. Don't offer criticism of Pman cause that's mean and he doesn't want to hear it.

And I believe Zefa was talking about your last vlog where you couldn't be bothered to edit your graphs professionally as a, you know, person who gets paid for video editing. Just hand scribbles on MS Paint.

How many hours of poker have you played this year?

Could you elaborate on what you mean here? Are you saying you think your podcast looks professional or that you don’t care if your podcast looks professional?

Can we stay on topic people?

you're lucky there isn't a functional moderator around.

mark is a great mod imo.

just keeps it real and doesn’t protect ops unnecessarily or without good reason.

rooting for you pman!

Mark is fine , I had some time dilation this week and didn't realize it had only been three days of trolling from the guy banned from this blog.

Hey Tuma thanks for the kind words. Hi RoadtoPro, I think i've read your thread on here if you have one. How are you doing?

Yes, I've reported the trolls from the las vegas vlog thread, unfortunately nothing seems to be being done lol. Oh well. I shall continue to ignore the negativity and do my best to be a positive person.

Have a great Sunday everyone. I'll be recording another podcast with a good friend of mine and fellow swc player about some "out there" topics, like her thoughts on good, evil, demons, etc...should be interesting

Once again, people, we seem to be straying off course. Let's stay focused on what this blog is about. Thanks for everyone's attention in this matter.

Could i please get some mods over here

For the record, you can hit the little "danger" symbol in the top right corner of any post to report it/get a mod's attention. My understanding is that that is their preferred method of communication because they don't read every post in every thread in every forum.

On that topic, while yes some of the people asking you about your volume may be asking in bad faith, it is still a relevant question. We're almost halfway through the month now, have you put in enough volume to EV 4-5% of the income you'll need for the year?

Op whats ur liferoll at?
