2/5: line check vs donk bet bet

2/5: line check vs donk bet bet

2/5 NL, 700 effective. Casino in Seoul, South Korea.

Villain is very active European. Limping, donk betting etc. Had not seen any showdowns yet.

Preflop: Villain (UTG) limp, Hero (BU) AhAc iso 25, V calls.

Flop (57) 6d5d3c: V bets 35, H calls.

Turn (127) Qc: V bets 90, H calls.

River (307) 9d: V bets 330, H ?

How would you construct his range ? sets, 65s, 53s, 4x, diamonds, 77-JJ?

I thought generally I should be calling more against V, but vs donk, bet, bet when flush draw comes in was unsure.

That is a pretty gross spot, the flush gets there, 87 the open ender on the flop gets there, 65 got there on the flop. This is a nasty spot, have you witnessed this person get out of line and put in big bets as bluffs? Is this a person you have seen many times or are they an unknown to you? I think unless I saw this person get out of line a lot I might have sigh fold.

I think you should raise flop
Villain likely knows this flop hit his range whether he hit it or not.

By calling, he’s enabled to continue his story.
I will say I am accused of too much aggression on this forum at times, but I think if you poke him early you may gain the info you need.

I mostly tell myself, I have to call with aces, because it feels so bad to fold that winning hand. However, as played

The flush draw makes a lot of sense to me from a likely tricky player. He could have identified that you had pockets, and thought he could beat you on the run out. Any four liner or the flush coming in and it’s hard to call with pockets.

Euros are usually studied even if playing erratically. Again, I think he may have capped you on the flop with one pair. But I think from the action described, it’s likely that this time, he hit his hand and I would fold.

Yes, it’s aces, but it’s only one pair
One pair’s usually no good when the money goes in.

If I don't raise the flop, I raise the turn. As played, it's just a table read. Sigh-call or sigh-fold.

I hope you are opening your button pretty wide vs this guy's limps.

Raise flop. Fold river as played.

I think calling when we have the Ad and folding when we don’t is fine. Not raising flop or turn to keep in his weak draws is better than raising.
