It's part of a tragedy for Europe that there may still be time to stop but it's getting very late. Nothing to do with Islam, this is about the world powers and the absolute folly of people talking about pieces of paper (or what is right) as if somehow they are worth a hill of beans without power behind them. The EU needs to be able to stand up for itself as a power. Then it can

The UK and the EU have a common policy on Greenland. Which is that the US can sodomise itself with a rusty trowel at its earliest convenience. This policy is the correct one.

Lol they will shut up and accept it just like Germany did with Nordstream

You may well be correct but it'll potentially cause long term damage between Europe and the US in lots of different ways.

Oh well if we have a policy then alls OK then. Nothing to worry about

Is it written on a piece of paper!

You underestimate us. First Trump would be hit with every strongly worded statement we can muster. That will be followed by urgent questions. All before we shut up.

At this point I think Europe should just lean in to what they are. A post industrial revolution society that has checked out of the rat race and just wants to relax and go on infinite holidays for a few decades until they fade into oblivion and are replaced by Middle Easterners and Africans.

Which is why I dont really see why Denmark should be putting up any fight over Greenland.

Why? What is the point? In 50 years there wont even be a Denmark anyways.

If any Dane is so passionate about Greenland, they should just emigrate to the US after the US buys it and be involved in whatever dynamic project the US decides upon for it.

Same for another other Europeans that want more than high culture and holidays. Just emigrate to the US and join the rat race. And leave Europe to its idyllic slumber.

I guess you just want the US to fold off and become completely insulated and isolated from the rest of the world.
Just don’t complain later on when no one likes you, trust you or just want to do any business with you.
Also, I think you should give me your house, after all you won’t be here in 50 years, right.

If you do not see why a country cares about its territory, then you probably should not comment on international relations between states.

Denmark formed some 1100 years before your country, and by the state of US politics, it seems poised to exist long after your current republic collapses.

I mean, I get you are trying to come of as some blasΓ© foreign policy hawk representing a country too powerful and realpolitikally inclined to care about things like alliances or sovereignty, but honestly it just sounds like you are channeling Joachim Von Ribbentropp.

Why exactly will Denmark cease to exist in 50 years?

absorbed into the new byzantine empire obv

I think the better solution is for the US to lose its influence world-wide and perhaps the next time an unhinged president is elected it won't be the entire world burning but just yours. Just an idea.

The Byzantine Empire, that is the Eastern Roman Empire, with its capital at Constantinople, surviving till 1453, was Christian.

No, I don't think so.

I'm finding it a little hard to believe Kelhus has been to Denmark.

Well, yeah, but when Europe has been replaced by the middle east, the new Holy Roman empire (Russia) will move in

Trump is now implying that some kind of military action in Mexico is on the table. But of course it was Kamala and the Biden administration that were the war mongers.

Something something genocide, something something both sides, something something the Dems made me do this
-Comrade Vic prolly

the Dems def loved some war

Last year, Joe and I brought together Democrats and conservative Republicans to write the strongest border bill in decades. The Border Patrol endorsed it.
But Donald Trump believes a border deal would hurt his campaign. So he ordered his allies in Congress to kill the deal. Well, I refuse to play politics with our security.
Here is my pledge to you: As President, I will bring back the bipartisan border security bill that he killed. And I will sign it into law.

[...] America, we must also be steadfast in advancing our security and our values abroad.
As Vice President, I have: confronted threats to our security, negotiated with
foreign leaders, strengthened our alliances, and engaged with our brave troops
overseas. As Commander-in-Chief, I will ensure America always has the strongest, most lethal fighting force in the world.

[...] I will make sure that: We lead the world into the future on space and Artificial
Intelligence. That America—not China—wins The competition for the 21st century.

[...] Let me be clear: I will always stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself and I will
always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself. Because the people of Israel
must never again face the horror that the terrorist organization Hamas caused on
October 7th. Including unspeakable sexual violence [...] And know this: I will never hesitate to take whatever action is necessary to defend our forces
and our interests against Iran and Iran-backed terrorists.

can't believe this wasn't a winning message, probably vic's fault

I'm finding it a little hard to believe Kelhus has been to Denmark.

I mean, any country can be described by its problems and worst news stories, and thus made to look bad. Put in a few social media hot takes, a foreign bot network, AI-adjusted images and a couple of half-truths, and you can make any country look like a nightmare.

Somewhat ironically in the context of this thread, if people visit Denmark instead of doomscrolling Twitter, they would not find a trouble-free society of course, but you would find something that looks a lot like the utopian dream of American nationalist-adjacent conservatives. Clean, wealthy, happy, orderly, safe, polite, filled with "western" tradition and homogeneous. Now, I'm not saying that is what everyone should want, I am just saying if that is what a person wants, they probably shouldn't slag the societies where it is the reality.

This was exactly my point.

I got to go to Denmark for work about 10 years ago. Flew into Billund and took a bus to Silkeborg, so was basically in the rural part of the country if there is such a thing. Didn't have time to experience much but I thought the country was super nice / clean / etc. People were very friendly. A couple locals did complain about sky high income taxes, although they get a ton of benefits along with that. I find it hard to believe that anyone could hate on Denmark.
