How are the games here speaking 2-5 and 1/3? Pretty interesting match the stack.
It looks like there is a 5 night limit for hotel stays in Black Hawk. Can I stay 5 nights at the Monarch, move to Ameristar for one night, and then stay 3 more nights at Monarch?
so is 30/60 dead?
Recently went for the first time in years and was fairly impressed by the setup @ Monarch. Good volume, even for a random middle Thursday, and was relieved it wasn't just reg city, or maybe I just got really lucky with my two tables.
Do they ever host PLO (hi-only) ever?

If they can get enough players sometimes the Monarch will spread 1/3 or 5/5 PLO high. It's best to watch the Bravo App to see if there is a list or even a game going.

I’ve only ever seen 5/5 PLO running one time. It was awesome. I’d love to get a regular PLao game running like they do for BigO. I imagine if we could find 8 regular players for a specific day they would run it for us. I can do Tuesday or Wednesday evenings.
Anyone have insight on what's going on at Bally's? Seems they were spreading mix game tournies regularly and now for September there is nothing.
Moderately surprised there is no discussion in this forum about the cheating scandal unfolding in Black Hawk, CO...
Then start the discussion. Most of us are not in/near Colorado but would certainly pay attention.
Neither Grok or Google find anything about a recent cheating scandal, so thanks for being useless.
ha chill out brother... word on the street is that a 5/10, 10/25 reg from Monarch has been marking cards but there is no concrete evidence. Said player has earned himself a 1 year ban from Monarch and also received a "strike" from WSOP this summer for same offense. Assume WSOP was not able to find concrete evidence either - otherwise, punishment would have been more severe. Much of the higher stakes player pool at Monarch refuses to play with this player, which I'd guess is a big reason for Monarch issuing the ban.
This player has since moved over to Bally's Black Hawk (tournament room across street from Monarch) and has been crushing the $400-1500's...
ladies and gentlemens, THE MIKE POSTLE OF BLACK HAWK COLORADO!
Why is anyone still playing with this guy if he's been banned from the room across the street?

-Lack of awareness
-Lack of belief
-They are playing tournaments with large fields, so theu feel it is unlikely they will be seated with the player (the other incidents were in cash games)
Bally's has been made aware of the issue. Their response was that they would look out for it, and they did nothing. Considering their poor history of catching game integrity issues, it's easy to be skeptical of their ability to catch anything.
Sucks to hear about the cheating, I never heard anything about it.
I've recently moved here and have been making good money at the 1/3 and 2/5 games at Monarch. These games are great, usually 2-3 whales at every table I've sat at.
If anyone here is also a reg and would want to grab a beer and talk about the games, let me know.
I too am unaware of the “cheating scandal”. I’m not a reg but do play the 5/10 and 10/25 regularly. Guess I need to be more in the gossip loop.
On another note, how are the tournaments doing for the summer poker championship? Are they actually getting entries again? Last time I played a few years ago, you made the final table by registering…
Does anyone care that monarch now has 10 dollar rake to start the year
Looking at Bravo, no they do not.
Is this just Monarch or have all the other rooms done this?
Per a reliable source, the $10 rake is only for BPs. Which is kinda dumb, but miles apart from $10/hand.
I have seen a 5-5 Mix game on Bravo at Monarch a couple times lately. Is this a real mix game or are they just tossing in Pineapple in the middle of holdem rounds every once in a while?
