......would you comply. (You have broken no law. You're just walking into the grocery store.)

if you are driving your car and a cop pulls you over and asks for your driver's license. (you have broken no law. you were driving and following all the rules of the road)

would you comply?

why or why not?

Hey housenuts, do you have a detailed understanding of what ICE's jurisdiction and powers are? No?

Get on that before you make a comment like they are acting in normal duty to violate citizens constitutional rights

Its more like, would you give over your bitcoin because the government told you to? Why or why not, housenuts?

My guess is you probably wouldn’t hand over your tokens because the royal Mounties told you bitcoin was murdering the country

If my kid is in the car? Yes, every single time. I’m not getting shot in front of my 5 year old.

Are federal agents bound by the state's laws they are operating in? Some states you need to identify yourself on request, others the officers need a reason to ask you.
Even if they're not bound, isn't it a 4th amendment thing?

I don't care ID that shows I am a US citizen.

Actually that happened when Justin Trudeau implemented the emergencies act in Canada over a peaceful demonstration by Truckers . They went on to seize Bitcoin accounts ,bank accounts

Yes I would provide ID

Wait so you guys have experience with authoritarian overreach, complain about it regularly, and support the authoritarian overreach happening in the US because.... you support the cause?

Then you both complain that people call you guys names.

But thats objectively one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. You guys deserve everything you get and more. I honestly didn't realize how ******ed it actually was

Aren't you required to produce ID to LE when asked?

I doubt it, it's why they're Federal, surely?

No. If you're just walking down the street or in a store you don't even have to carry ID.

Over my way you're not required to have ID either, but if a cop asks, you just have to give your name, address and dob and after that, nothing else.
But in the US if you did have ID on you at the time, can you refuse to present it? Can the cops search you? ICE are federal and afaik it's a crime to lie to Feds conducting an investigation, so if you say you've no ID but do, and the feds search you, can you then be arrested for lying?

It varies I'm sure by jurisdiction but if a cop asks you for ID obviously you can say no or just not answer. The question is after that can the cop detain you and it probably depends on why they asked for identification to begin with. If they were called by a business owner because you refused to leave their property or something like that obviously they can. If they just thought you looked suspicious based on nothing, probably not. But ICE bros aren't really concerned with the limits of their power and stuff like the 4th amendment no longer protects you if you consent.

Who says I Support the current way Ice is carrying out their duties. Yes I support deporting all illegal immigrants that committed a crime or anyone that is here illegally under the Biden open border policy.

I have said I would convict the officer that shot the woman . Though it is a felony to interfere with a federal officer and support charging anyone that does.

Also in Canada when the trucker protest was going on there was zero violence and our Supreme Court has ruled the Prime Minister was wrong in invoking it . They destroyed peoples lives with the emergency act. I have said many times Trudeau and Trump are very similar in their personalities and both will have long term effects on how they damaged their countries

Call me anything you want

I do not either, and do not know a single American citizen who does.

You are not good at reading or understanding. There was no complaining about name calling. Don't give AF. Fat guy even told me to kill myself. Lol. Don't care. I find it funny that Dem logic is name calling and not logic.

You also talk about us supporting xyz. Maybe some do. Happy to see any of my supportive posts so I can reflect.

I don't think I said anything about ICE

Fun story: 21 years ago I was charged with obstruction of a peace officer for failure to identify myself.

Got an absolute discharge in court.

Biden deported about 30% more people than Trump's first term and arrested as many as 2.4 million people at the border in a year. How dumb does someone have to be to call that "open borders".

When you let up to 20 million in and you lose 300,000 kids

As someone coming from another part of the globe where showing ID for way more mundane things than that, like boarding a plane, a bus, to vote, when checking in into an hotel, buying some big ticket item in a store etc, I do not necessarily understand why having to show your ID, and carrying it with you all the time, is a problem. Other than cultural differences really. I find it amusing tbh.

Exactly. As much as this sentiment seems to piss people off, especially when Victor says it, the political parties in this country truly are just different wings of the same bird.

Those are all normal here. Much of this discussion centers around Trumps inability to unite the country and failure to convince citizens that his immigration policy is making the country better.
