As far as I know: the deeper we are, the bigger the importance of playing ip, and conversely the disadvantage of playing oop.

In general yes, esp vs aware/good players our position becomes vastly more important as stacks get deeper. However, against whales the deeper the better, even oop its fine we just overcome the disadvantage with strategy adjustments (donking, xr, etc.)


Pre is simply not profitable facing a 4x open from even a normal rfi range, you say they are too tight as well

If OP, a longtime live pro/coach, struggled in this situation with a perfect board against a whale, no way a rec player should ever be in this situation.
