In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there a
Bolded isn't true at all. I'm sure you remember all the reporting when he had dinner with Trump at Mar-A-Lago.
i don't watch television news unless there's something breaking - last few times i did that was when i woke up to learn we got maduro and the time before that was when we bombed iran
everything i hear is npr on my drives and reading long form online
so i'm going to miss that surface level fluff that doesn't really penetrate into the long form journalism nor is anything npr cares about
i also spend a lot of time with highly educated, high networth, mostly tech people in the seattle area - boilerplate liberals that would be concerned about this guy if he were anything other than a fear mongering prop utilized by the far left
not once has anyone ever mentioned him - he's a ghost
According to the American citizens who prosecuted her, the mastermind of Minnesota fraud is not a Somali national but rather a white American citizen. Deport her back to England?
You do realize that was covid fraud scheme. The current one is a daycare, transportation and interpreter fraud scheme.

I don't watch television news either unless there is some real time event like January 6 or election results. Not ever. And I certainly interact with a lot of wealthy people on a reg. So there must be some other explanation why I was aware of such things and you were not.
you probably read more news than i do????
finally clicked that linkcoordi, i think you're out of touch and don't understand how much of a meme that song islast time i was in nyc that song had recently come out and i went bowling with a friend in his all jewish bowling team that bowled in a dive bar in brooklyn - they played that song on their boombox before bowling and were all rocking out to it ironically - laughing h
Nick Fuentes was there, heβs notable enough to have have his own thread, as well as sneako who helped Nick Fuentes rehabilitate his image. Clavicular is some weird dude no idea what his politics are, but I know he is accused of giving women roofies.
Terrible analogy. I mean, if the RATM tracks you liked were “All praise be to glorious leader Stalin” and “Send them all to the gulags” then you might have a point, and that’s accepting for a moment that the USSR was communist.
I don't think calling someone out of touch then admitting you don't know who anyone is in the video is an effective tactic
Its certainly true that I have no clue what goes on in the clubbing scene. It would be quite wrong to state I don't know whats going on in the perpetually online conservative scene though
Its kind of like Trump trolling with authoritarianism. The point isn't to paint a dichotomy so absurd that nobody believes it. Its more a wink and a nod to those in the know
roc - i appreciate that nuance - i have no interest in those types of peopleif i were never on 2p2, i would have never heard of nick fuentes - he's never once come up in news/discussion - the only time i've ever heard him referenced is as a boogeyman from the far left posters herei thus have no idea who he is or what he looks likei have no reason to disagree with the things sai
Rick I like you but c'mon, really? That goes way beyond a mere meme. Tate being bi racial is irrelevant, this guy is black and a neo nazi.

This shooter was a neo nazi and Native American

Kanye has professed admiration for Hitler and the nazis. I really don't think anyone enthusiastically singing along to Kanye's HH song is memeing here. And sorry but I also find it hard to believe Jewish people would sing along with it in an "OMG that's so funny!" kinda way, seriously.

you need to spend more time drinking with american hipsters
the group is lampooned for their soy lattes but it's the same group of people who spawned vice, making tattoos mainstream, drinking cheap beer, bringing back beards etc
the proud boys were started in brooklyn by a bunch of hipsters who did it all a joke against the feminization of america - was then co-opted and taken over by the far right but began as a hipster gathering in brooklyn where the requirements for membership was to drink and get tattoos together

We just live on different planes of reality
perhaps i was being unfair as the founder was no longer a liberal by the time he founded the group but it was definitely a group of edgy hipsters who founded it - the founder and most others who were involved heavily at the beginning now have nothing to do with it

McInnes is a far right guy, hes just not white nationalist. The problem is, far right is so closely tied to white nationalism that he lost control of the group.
There seems to be this issue with many people on the right where they look around and they are surrounded by actual nazis and white nationalists and this doesn't make their alarms go off.
So when you hand wave the proud boys as lefty hipsters its almost something I would expect Luciom to say. Its just bizarre, so far from the truth, and a deeply deeply right wing thing to say

I doubt if even Jewish hipsters will enthusiastically sing HH.

Hipsters are not politically homogenous. It isn't an inherently left-wing or right-wing label.
It's more than a little disingenuous to act like Gavin McInnes started a fun little drinking club that got co-opted by far right nutjobs. McInness had a long history of saying crazy **** that started long before he founded the Proud Boys and continued long after he stepped down as the nominal head of the organization.
Admittedly, he has applied a "not sure if serious, maybe I'm trolling" veneer to a lot of his comments, but that's true of a great many of these self-consciously transgressive alt-right a-holes.
its such a weird little fake story to tell. but maybe if they are Zionist then they would be Hitler fans. it makes sense that fascists etho-Supremacists would revere him.
fair point on mcinnes. he was already right by the time he founded the proud boys
look, bleeding heart liberal places like massachusetts and nyc are far more confrontational than most of the country. the far right tries to cosplay masculinity. what they point to as tough is just a poor imitation of east coast behavior of liberals
normal behavior gets misread as maga coded by outsiders. liberal jews in nyc rocking out to that kanye song? happens all the time. reaction is omg this is insane - wtf is wrong with kanye lol, not yes i agree with this
bad optics does not mean bad intent. explaining that isn’t endorsing it
humor and culture aren’t tied to politics. you can be anti fascist and anti racist and still do dumb, ironic stuff in public
the kanye song literally opens with him whining about twitter and not seeing his kids, then heil hitler. the absurdity is the point, not ideology
misreading irony as ideology is how you lose the ability to tell actual extremists from people just being stupid in public
next we're going to round up jimmy carr for being a nazi

before founding vice he was an insult comic - so that isn't just political cover - it's how he's always been

Again, this irony explanation perhaps makes sense for your bowling alley bros. It doesn't make sense for Nick Fuentes.

You're implying a lot of meaning from the song for someone who is openly a Nazi. You also misread the intent of the actual video (or failed to name it) in your long winded attempts to convince people that things can be interpreted differently in different contexts
You're moving the conversation away from anything relevant and taking every attempt to sanitize something that is rightly interpreted as unsanitary. It's very difficult to believe you are not posting in bad faith or just really far gone
