do you honestly believe that's all that's been said of me?

the libs in thread like to repeatedly call people stupid, wish harm on their family, and suggest they kill themselves. it's pretty amusing to sit back and picture how much their head is boiling. this is how i imagine the majority of the personal attacking people. not all are like that though. some are good people, just with differing views.

Just in the last 40 years. Democratic sponsored and led policies targeted to help the working class:1993 — Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA): created up to 12 weeks unpaid, job-protected leave (with continued health benefits) for eligible workers.1993 — Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA ’93), major EITC expansion: significantly expanded the Earned Inco

I want to clearly state to the group in these threads that carry on just about every day, about how both sides are the same, and democrats never do anything, you're ARE NOT doing a fair accounting.

One side has passed many pieces of legislation over the years, that are specifically targeted to help the working class. The other party has done everything thing they can, to prevent or block that legislation. If you really can't see this, you're not being honest.

True... there are corporate democrats that will side w/ Republicans. But that's should be a clue right there. Get those people out, so at least one party can do the people's work.

I also want to remind all of you working class people who read this, that ALL of your workers rights came from democrats, via liberal labor unions. And the opposition to all of these standards were Republicans / conservatives. They did not want you to have:

Minimum wage

Overtime pay

8-hour workday

40-hour workweek

Right to unionize

Collective bargaining rights

Paid vacation

Paid sick leave

Family and medical leave

Workplace safety standards

Child labor protections

Unemployment insurance

Workers’ compensation for injury or death

Anti-discrimination protections in employment

Equal pay protections

Employer-sponsored health benefits

Pension and retirement benefits

Employer contributions to Social Security and Medicare

Job protection during approved leave

Protections against arbitrary or retaliatory firing

Least we forget, we are doomed to repeat.

I, of course, never said or implied such a things.Note well that I AGREED with coordi that the beating of Rodney King and the subsequent ruling in favor of the cops was an example of white supremacy. The specific topic being discussed was occasions in which the Insurrection Act was invoked. It was invoked by Bush41 because of violent rioters, many of whom were looting businesses

You guys regularly do and say incredibly stupid ****

The other stuff is you playing a nuclear level victim

I think many of them are frustrated that you can't see, what is obvious to many of us. Read my post above.

You ARE in a class war, whether you want to acknowledge it or not. And supporting people who only want to enrich the billionaire class, because you think one day you may become one, is just plain dumb. They distract you with culture wars, and hating your fellow American, while they rob you blind. They are exploiting you and your biases.

Look at in income inequality chart from the past 50+ years, and if you can figure out why that graph is the way it is, and why it's not good for democracy or the working class, then you may get half way to understanding liberal frustrations, and WHY you should care too.

Kewl!

As an aside, I'm not as good looking as that guy in the drawing.

my judgement is solid

No, it isn’t. It’s for ****.

It was invoked at the request of the CA governor and other top CA officials who had lost control of that part of the city. A very important distinction from what President Dickhead is doing and his cronies suggesting they invoke it today.

It also was invoked in response to unrest that was unrelated to an action of the federal government.

Here, Trump is creating the unrest and then arguing that he may need to invoke the Insurrection Act to quell the unrest. It's bog standard authoritarianism.

not much volume, but some ok money you can make if you think it's invoked today or over the next 2 weeks. can scoop up a bunch if you think it's invoked any time this year.

Let them eat...a broccoli floret!

β€œThe answer to that is no,” she said. β€œWe’ve run over a thousand simulations. It can cost around $3 a meal for a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, corn tortilla and one other thing. And so there is a way to do this that actually will save the average American consumer money.”

But this isn’t entirely new territory for Rollins. It was just 10 months ago that she endorsed perhaps the first truly awkward bit of financial advice: suggesting that maybe people concerned about sky-high egg prices could get backyard chickens.

Boggles my mind

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers reportedly arrested three staff members from a Mexican restaurant outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Thursday evening, hours after the officers ate lunch at the establishment.

Another ICE murder

A Cuban immigrant died in a Texas immigration detention facility earlier this month during an altercation with guards, and the local medical examiner has indicated that his death will likely be classified as a homicide.

The federal government has provided a differing account surrounding the Jan. 3 death of Geraldo Lunas Campos, saying the detainee was attempting suicide and staff tried to save him.

This.

It's pretty clear Trump has every intention of burning Minneapolis to the ground.

the POC "thugs" were rioting because the power structure had changed such that the white supremacists had the power, abused their power, and got away with that abuse

Its literally what conservatives claim the 2nd amendment is for

Actually the 1992 riots were mainly an ethnic pogrom that didn't involve whites at all.

Koreans had built a lot of successful small businesses in black areas, and there was bubbling black resentment over this. Whatever the pretense, the riots were mainly focused on destroying Korean businesses. And they were mostly successful. Koreans moved their businesses to other parts of LA, and the areas hardest hit by the riots became business deserts.

I still remember them dragging that trucker out of his truck and pounding in his skull.

yup - even coined a phrase from it - roof koreans

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rooftop_Ko...

this is what inspired people like kyle rittenhouse who went over to protect businesses from looting (obviously kyle went there because he's a big pos who wanted to larp as a badass) but that was the official reason and they were welcomed by law enforcement who knew they didn't need to patrol the streets that had the nutjobs like rittenhouse

For better or worse, Kamala ended up as the 2024 nominee soley because of Biden. By the time Biden stepped down, the Democrats had no practical alternative other than to hope for the best with Kamala.

i ran over a thousand simulations and this didn't check out in any of them

if you random sampled 5 minutes of biden public appearances from 2022-2023 it was evident he was impaired. the party strategy was to silence or shame anyone who raised the issue. PBS brought on a doctor the week before the first debate to assure us there was "no evidence" Biden was experiencing cognitive decline. then Scarborough's "best Biden ever". then we were confronted with Actual Biden on live TV

his admin knew he'd fail the debate sniff test (moving the debate 3 months early to June to buy time for emergency candidate development) but strategically delayed the reckoning past primaries so they could pick their friendly nominee and potentially secure themselves a place in the next administration

i'd heap 100x more blame on them than the confused 82 year old with dementia

He doesn't have dementia... he has what they call, being old.

Have you ever heard Trump speak btw? lol

Such a tired narrative. Biden was old, shouldn't have run, but was still cognitively ok, and we know this because he had literally hundreds of pressers before and after the dreaded debate fiasco.

It’s been twelve years and I have still never heard Trump give a speech that shows he has a comprehensive understanding of a government functional or proposed law. He gives things nicknames like the big beautiful bill because it reflects the depth of his understanding of it.

Biden was able to do this before and after the debate. His mental decline may have been sudden and was unlikely linear.
