Default is to check, but I don't mind betting at least some of the time. Definitely allows you to bet bigger on the turn and win it there quite a bit of the time, especially if you have a good image.

Can you explain? I thought the A3 gives us more nutted turn barrels.

I don't want to barrel a hand like tptk, nld, nut gutter. What are you trying to accomplish? They are mostly not folding better so I guess you are trying to get them to call worse.

Feels like we can get better to fold sometimes, but cleaning up equity seems important. Getting a hand like 89 or Txxxx to fold is a good result, no?

If he folds flops that he checks as the aggressor I'm betting here 2/3 .

Is it though? Imaginary two card 89 has 4 outs to scoop and 4 outs to split. You also want someone to hit a weaker low with their weaker one pairs, you want to give free cards to dry nld etc. I don't think protection alone is even remotely a good enough reason for a bet. You can protect when lots of rivers would make it more difficult to realize equity.
