No, the floor should never base their ruling on OP's hand. Why would that even matter?

If you toss your cards forward while facing a bet, you have folded. Any other ruling can lead to chaos and lots of angle shooting, even if you're sure that there was no angle intended in this particular hand. Consistency in rule enforcement is important.
