The "LOLCANADA" thread...again
So what's new?
I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet
everything about your post was completely ridiculous. But yes, you are “right” that a German delegation awkwardly smiled when Trump tried to call them out. Of course Trump was an idiot, and Germany dropped from 27% oil from Russia to 3% after the war started. Much as Trump would love Germany depended on overpriced geographically ridiculous American oil and gas and be under his thumb, recent events show swapping dependency for the us isn’t exactly a smart move
LMAO, do you hear yourself speak? In no possible universe is 100% tariffs a reasonable or proportionate or acceptable response at all for Carney making a speech where he told the obvious truth. Like the idea that Trump exposed "Canllrney" (sic?) and Carney should face consequences for his actions is just hilariously ridiciulous. What a buffoon.
And visiting China to talk a trade deal. No silly, exposing how fragile our economy is, "us" does not mean Carney.
Sounds like YOU are oversimplifying since I didn't say he wanted more ukrainians to die. Why do you just make random **** like this up? I am saying the consequence of his actions - depriving Ukraine of the weapons it needs to bravely defend itself - has been that more ukrainians have died.
Ukrainians are dying on the battlefield every single day because the US cut off their supplies
The US has given ~200 billion so far btw. Are you practicing for Davos? Using adjectives like depriving and bravely.
And visiting China to talk a trade deal. No silly, exposing how fragile our economy is, "us" does not mean Carney.
It is OUTRAGEOUS to threaten 100% tariffs for a speech you didn't like, which is one of the two things you mentioned. It is also OUTRAGEOUS to threaten 100% tariffs after an extremely narrow canola for EVs trade deal. When you make an AND statement you should expect people to focus on the stupider side of that and statement. But both sides are stupid. Everything about this is stupid.
For years Canada bent over backwards to do everything the US wanted including that EV ban and including arresting the Huawei heiress leading to incredibly fierce backlash from China. We would have continued. But then Trump attacked us. Look how you talk out of both sides of your mouth at once. If Trump exposed the fragility of Canadian depending on US markets then the answer - obviously - is to focus on other markets but the Americans. But if we go for even extremely narrow trade deals with other markets moving away from said fragility, Trump has a hissy fit. No matter what we do, we lose.

Right. The US was doing good. Of course much of that 200 billion was aging military equipment purchases long ago that would never get used, so it's "actuarial value" might be 200 billion but the actual costs to taxpayers are much lower. But even still yes the US did a lot, as did many countries with proportionately smaller militaries, but then Trump got elected and it slowed to a trickle in terms of the actual weapon systems that actually matter.
It's just objectively true that Ukranians have been bravely fighting and dying to defend their country. It's hilarious that this exact kind of military heroism language is absolutely endemic with how conservatives describe the US military - yes the second it is used to describe Ukranians this becomes a point to mock for you as practicing for Davos? It's like you guys are just utterly blind to your own rhetoric.
And visiting China to talk a trade deal. No silly, exposing how fragile our economy is, "us" does not mean Carney.
Maybe you can tell us instead how Canada and Carney for that matter should react and handle Trump. I'd love to learn, not that I'm confident you can teach anyone anything but I have an open mind.

I am very critical of Trump but also acknowledge the policies he has put in place that are great.
Do you have any criticism on Trumps presidency or are you like Uke A Trudeau loyalist

If we use Shifty's posting ITT as a model, it appears the correct response should be to regurgitate word for word every Trump talking point, often long after Trump himself stops talking about them.
I guess Carney could try that
I am glad you asked

That is just a few items. I have said If I was an American I would not have voted because Kamala is trash as well but lately im not so sure . Unlike you I am not a partisan hack
That is a terrible list that shows even though your are inclined to find criticisms, your criticisms are largely surface level fluff. And you don't like tariffs on Canada.
Lol at your endless attempts to relitigate Trudeau and pretending like I didn't spend the last like decade telling you precisely when I agreed and didn't agree.
But pulling out that particular line item you "love" from his self proclaimed on big beautiful bill is a pretty great example of my point that you are doing surface level analysis while completely missing any substantive criticism beyond tariffs on Canada. Just enough mild criticism to let you clap yourself on the back and act like you don't unilaterally support trump, while otherwise being fully fully bought in.

Lol, am I sensing a bit of frustration? Very stupid, it was stupid to decide an election on Elbows up!, the cringe hysteria around the entire situation and people like you pushing the narrative. But here we are, zero concessions, tariff increases and under Trump's thumb. Congratulations!

Most countries do whatever the US wants. They are the world's superpower after all.

Hey, now you're getting it! Almost like the whole elbows up! thing was OUTRAGEOUS.
Funny how this isn't reflected in reality. Countries are pulling away from the US, we could argue the US is pushing them away but what we can't argue is the quoted. I could list a number of reasons but I don't think you're capable of understanding them.
I'm going to take you not being able to answer what Canada should do as yet again another fail from you. Sad.

Cool, I don't think you're capable of reading comprehension.

You have a severe case of TDS and just recently showed up itt, all you do is take out your anger on people and fantasize about hangings. No interest in answering your questions.

I can not remember you ever in a direct criticism of JT. The closest you came was when he cancelled the carbon tax on Atlantic Canada to buy votes
And yes the Big Beautiful bill with the tax cuts that increased the deficit is another almost as bad as the Inflation Reduction Bill

Yes, there is a lot of frustration. It really sucks that Trump is causing so much harm and damage to Canada, the US, and the rest of the world.
Most countries do whatever the US wants. They are the world's superpower after all.
This isn't true. Certainly the US has undue influence and pushes a lot of countries around, just like it is pushing Canada around right now. But that doesn't mean countries just utterly capitulate and give in to every demand, nor should Canada. Like Trump's ridiculous going on about Greenland which got firmly shut down and is probably just one more in a long list of TACO moments. People tell him no. He backs down. It's a thing. Now this is going to take some nuance and I know you don't know how to spell that word, but there is balance there. You can't push back on everything - they are the world's superpower as you say. But you can't roll over on everything. So it's a balance.

Lol why does every conversation with you end up at the same place - attempting to relitigiate Trudeau. I'm sorry you don't remember my very long an specific sets of critiques offered over many years ITT. I'm not going to help you with your homework. I'm not relitigating it all over again.

Matter of opinion. Personally feel we are own own worst enemy. We can't even agree what's best for the country between provinces, it's been reported internal trade barriers cause more damage than Trump's tarrifs.
This isn't true. Certainly the US has undue influence and pushes a lot of countries around, just like it is pushing Canada around right now.
I was referring to the examples you used. Generally speaking most countries do what the US tells them regardless of who's POTUS.

its been that long huh. 😵

You complained about Harper way after he left so I think I got more than 8 years . Your such a Trudeau suck its unbelievable

Lol. This is such a stupid line. I barely ever talked about Harper. Like in less than 1% of the various political discussions would I ever bring it back to Harper. Of those, they were either times you brought him up first or when it completely made sense to. Or something like "lozen does a stupid whataboutism, I show him how if you play the whataboutism game with Harper it destroys his point". But all of that added together is still a tiny minority of interactions.
You however seem to trying to steer everything conversation - this one included - back to relitigating Trudeau. I get that you hated him and it is harder for you to have the target of such hatred gone, but man you gotta let it go!

Ill let it go when he is tried for Treason ang hung
Sounds like you are going to be holding onto your seething hatred for a very, very long time in that case.
