If you lived in Minneapolis, and an ICE agent demand ID.....

......would you comply. (You have broken no law. You're just walking into the grocery store.)

Why or Why not?

I'm not sure what conclusion you are coming to from the tweetI take away a few things:The Biden administration was a lot more competent on these matters than literally anyone gives them creditThe Trump administration has continually piggy backed off the previous administrations successThe Shirley thing is extra dumb when you realize they are just piggy backing off this investig

I thought she was implying that the previous investigation and prosecution indicated that there was a lot more fraud to be found, which isn't obvious.

I certainly knew about the 2022 prosecution and I knew that Shirley effectively was recycling an old story. I don't know that Trump is piggybacking off of anyone's success during this term. That would imply that he is doing many things successfully. I don't see much evidence that he is.

Ah, I can see that now.

I was thinking of the Chips Act specifically, where Biden laid the ground work for much of the claimed investment coming in for data centers and hardware construction.

roc - just to nip this in the budi'm for government assistance - i think government should take a very active role in either providing freely outright or subsidizing essentials for lifemailroadsutilitieshousingeducationhealthcaresciencewastesecurityregulating businessesetci do not think we should just go "oh you haven't worked for 5 years? here's a monthly paycheck"that's why i

I never thought you were some sort of government minimalist.

A lot of the "essentials" you list above already are provided as a government service or heavily subsidized. They are paid for out of tax revenue or through debt, which I assume is what you mean when you say that the government should provide those things "freely."

by rickroll m

is this because 49/2+7>22?

it's actually more about the boss/employee relationship imo

also your "man's man" was clearly part of the Epstein sexual abuses

yes, i just want a leader who will provide those safety nets, cut off freeloaders, regulate industry, not sound like he's performing when interacting with people, and get consensual blowjobs whenever he damn pleases from whomever is willing to give them

just happened to see a tweet about the cops bombing the neighborhood we were talking about the other day

love bill. are we really surprised their macing people? 😃

The bombing in Philadelphia was and continues to be a notorious event in Philadelphia political history. It was egregious, ill planned, and wildly excessive, but it was not a run of the mill occurrence. I know from firsthand experience that it was something that people in the city continued to talk about and revisit many, many years after it happened.

******s not understanding that both the democrats and the republicans support Israel because it’s strategically advantageous. The country, both republicans and democrats benefit from a strong allegiance with Israel as opposed to Israel’s enemies who are mostly countries with severe domestic issues. Regardless, the Gazans are worse off with Trump in charge. Idk how you guys continue to engage these monkeys.

just happened to see a tweet about the cops bombing the neighborhood we were talking about the other day

this is a gross mischaracterization of what happened

move was an armed militia, 7 years earlier when police were ordered to evacuate them out of their last headquarters, 16 police were wounded and one was killed in the shootout that took place after a year long standoff

in this second standoff of the remaining members were not imprisoned in the first one in 1978, the police had evacuated a 2 block radius and when they attempted to enter a firefight broke out which last 90 minutes in which the police used 10,000 rounds of ammunition

it was deemed too dangerous to breach by force, so bombs were considered the safest option

maybe bombs were not the answer, but i stand by their decision

while some of the victims were children of members, that tweet above grossly implies that random neighbors were killed in the bombing

firemen also didn't engage not to burn down the neighborhood but out of for fear of being shot

Sounds like her characterization was completely accurate.

are you really trying to say that police don't terrorize black communities?

Black communities have the highest crime rates - of course they should be focused on them.

I don't know where you got the the information that 16 police officers were wounded in Powelton Village in 1978. You are correct that one officer was killed. I think that a few officers were wounded, but not that many.

There is no way to defend the bombing. Literally anything else would have been a better choice. The Philadelphia police department had no experience dropping bombs and obviously didn't know how to control the situation they were creating with the bombs, which is why 61 residences were destroyed and more than 200 people were left homeless. The city no longer even attempts to defend the decision to drop the bombs.

You don't have to be a defender of MOVE or its tactics to think that the bombing was completely ****ed.

Maybe the Philly police were just big fans of Caddyshack and got inspired by the ending?

Shame USA is wasting so much money on ICE that could be sent to other countries instead

Wouldn't you rather it go to help people in the USA that can't afford food? If only we could get republicans to vote for those types of things.

When there was a natural disaster in North Carolina right wingers where claiming FEMA was picking and choosing who to help. Joe Biden tried to pass a relief bill to send billions in aid to the state and the republican representatives of the state not only voted against their own constituents receiving aid, they then went on Twitter and blamed Biden after voting against it

I guess my point is republican politicians would rather watch their people literally starve to death in a natural disaster than do something bi partisan that might also benefit democrats

This has not always been the case, but it definitely has been the norm since Trump showed up.

i agree bombing was obviously not the answer but they had good reason to want to avoid another year long standoff that ended with a dead officer

so we all agree the pigs did a terrible thing in Philly.....

and Minnesota, and LA, and NY, and Chicago, and on and on and on

I had seen sources that gave different numbers.

At dawn on August 8, the authorities towed parked vehicles off the block; then the police ordered, through a bullhorn, the MOVE occupants to vacate the house immediately. When MOVE refused to comply, a police-driven bulldozer pulverized the wooden barricade members had erected in the front of the house; a cherry picker followed in the path of the bulldozer and knocked out the wooden slats MOVE had mounted on windows. High-pressure hoses blasted thousands of gallons of water into the house. A gun battle ensued. A veteran police officer, James Ramp, was killed in the melee; two other officers and three firefighters were wounded.

I guess that accounts vary, which isn't that surprising.
