Does anyone remember an old mystery about a online poker room chat participant called Pit Boss?
Let's see if the oldheads of 2P2 can succeed wear chatgpt has failed. I'm pretty sure I read about this here on the forums.
This would have been about 15-20 years ago, before Black Friday.
During online games at one of the sites, a person would appear at the chat of tables with the name "Pit Boss" and type stuff out in the chat.
I don't remember what for sure, but I want to say yell out cards to come like "QUEEN!" "ACE!" (I don't remember if those cards would actualyy hit the flop or not).
The general consensus was that an employee of the site was "Pit Boss" and was just ...being weird, but no one was sure why and to my knowledge, I don't think the mystery was solved before it was forgotten about.
I want to say it was Absolute Poker, or Ultimate Bet, or Bovada (Bodog back then), but again, I'm not sure. Ultimate Bet rings the strongest bell. Does this story ring a bell to anyone else?

I searched the archives by going to https://archives1.twoplustwo.com/ and https://archives2.twoplustwo.com/ but couldn't find anything there apart from https://archives2.twoplustwo.com/showthr... on 9/8/2004. I didn't read all the threads with "pit boss" in posts, so there may be others. (He may have been "pitboss".)

There used to be a Santa Claus on UB that would bounce around pretty much giving away money around the holidays. This was def pre BF and pre scandal. No recollection of a pit boss tho
