Tried a new online Hold’em room – some thoughts + questions

Long time reader, first time posting.

I’ve been playing Texas Hold’em on and off for years, mostly online cash games and some low–mid stakes MTTs. Over the last few months I’ve noticed a couple of things changing in the online ecosystem and wanted to see what everyone else is experiencing.

1) Player pools feel very different now
Some rooms feel extremely reg-heavy, others feel much softer but with less volume. It’s getting harder to find a balance between decent traffic and a healthy mix of recreational players.

2) Formats seem to matter more than ever
Fast-fold games are still popular, but I’m seeing more interest in:
- Regular speed cash games
- Smaller-field MTTs
- Tables with fewer seating options (6-max, short-handed)

3) Platform rules & transparency
One thing I personally care about is whether a platform clearly states things like:
- No card manipulation
- Clear RNG certification
- Reasonable bot detection (but not over-policing legit players)

Recently I tried a newer online Hold’em platform that focuses mainly on standard Texas Hold’em (cash + MTT), and the experience felt closer to “old school” online poker than what I’m used to lately. Traffic isn’t massive yet, but games feel surprisingly natural.

Not here to spam links — just genuinely curious:

- What online rooms are you guys playing on right now?
- Are you prioritizing traffic, softness, or game integrity?
- Anyone else experimenting with smaller or newer platforms instead of the big names?

Would love to hear some real grinder perspectives.
