2026 Trading Thread

Not sure how necessary a new thread is but its tradition or something.

Ironically I opened the 2025 thread asking about how to invest in Venezuelan oil and in the wee hours of this morning we deposed Venezuelan 'dictator' Maduro

I don't really trade stocks anymore but have done well just buying ~9 month out google calls and I see no reason to stop buying google anytime soon. I think Hood will get to 500 billion market cap within the next 2-5 years

I do think hood keeps going up and up im debating jut to put afew dollars a week the app is easy to use, very gamified IU wise and just flat out easier to use for new and experienced investors with their setup.

whether they are as reputable as fidelity or not is still debatable, if they can start getting approved for hysa down the line continuously like they do for gold they seem "safe" but still think fidelity might be more stable?

I am still slowly looking at voo and buying when I can if possible but I am not sure if im gettgin 10% per year as we have been

Bought Boeing

Dumped half of my SLV position this week at around 70.5 . Too early? Who cares my entry was around 20ish and I'll just hang onto the other half.

Also bought a small NFLX call options position this week (Mar 100 calls). Pure speculation and expect them to expire worthless. Unless they don't 😀

I almost never short but I had an SLV short order today all set up and decided to rethink before executing.

I vividly remember 2011 when people were talking about their silverware and now those conversations are starting again. I'll admit that it isn't the most extravagant thesis but it's also held up pretty well through recent history in my life.

Stock noob question - I am paper trading and bought a100,000 shares of PAVS on my margin account a couple months ago. PAVS did a 1 for 100 reverse share split, yet I still "own" 100,000 shares allowing me to sell them at current market price. Shouldn't my shares be diluted to 1,000 after the reverse share split?

Bought $SERV and it rose 60 percent in 9 days.
I switched from investor to trader and closed it.

Instead of shorting silver I bot GLD, which I have never done before.

I'll wait for silver to crack before shorting it, just like in the famous silver thread which was very profitable. The uptrend started at 16, there will be plenty of time to get in on the downside. If it fails at 100, or breaks thru, then breaks down is a good time to follow closely.

Biggest positions are still: GOOG, AMZN, NVDA.

Biggest new position is MU.

Gonna buy some long dated calls in CNQ

Gonna buy more Google calls

closed GLD with small profits, shorted SLV this morning on break of 90.

Bought LULU, think SLV makes a short term recovery but a long term short, bought puts/shorted MU.

Why short MU?

Why short MU?

Cause it doubled over the past 2 months. Seems overvalued to me.

LULU looks like a good short to me, no position currently. They are running a disaster class over there and any break of 162 is pretty bad. I'd short it there.

I'm looking to get into day trading to make some money is it possible?

Its possible but not practical

Its possible but not practical

What do you mean by that?

I'm looking to get into day trading to make some money is it possible?

It's certainly possible but you'll have to learn on your own through trial and error. I would say open a paper money account on Thinkorswim and see if you can figure out a winning strategy over a year - similar to poker you need conviction as to why you're making a certain trade and a large sample size to verify if you have a true edge.

No. Full stop.

by Crich m

What do you mean by that?

If you are asking if it is possible it’s probably next to impossible for you

Crypto, Metals, and Tech nuking across the board. Capital seemingly not flowing anywhere

Where is all that money going to go when it gets deployed

Back into tech. At least for now.

+1. Day trading is simple but it sure aint easy. You have to find an edge and a niche and test over a long period. You will need the discipline of Job and if you don't it isn't worth attempting. It all comes down to your approach which must be internalized (ie something you believe in) and mathematically feasable from backtesting. Then STRICT discipline is needed with rules which must be followed and adhered to every single trade. It's easy to throw the rules out the window when getting hammered or even worse when winning. Cutting winners short can be one of the biggest mistakes.

I successfully day traded for a living for many years. I got my start in the commodity pits at the Chicago Board of Trade. Unless you are totally commited with extreme discipline and an approach that is proven that you can follow like a robot you will fail. 95%+ fail.

Anyone know a good message board to get into day trading?

No day trader worth their salt would give up a strategy to post it on a message board, potentially ruining their strategy.

Doesn't exist.
