Was reading this thread, obv could have missed a post and was not renewing the site like a maniac, but I can't recall to have seen an insulting or discriminating post from Slugant. Pointed, maybe sometimes harsh posts, yes, but I consider his posts always something worth reading.

First of all, I don't do anything that goes against the agreements we have with the current owners. Second, in the past we have given away free copies of several of our books which we have publicized here and which many people on Two Plus Two have benefited from. And we plan to do it again in the future. Are you objecting to that as well?

Result: He didn't listen and it blew up spectacularly.
Best way to help a friend in this scenario is keep quiet publicly and support him in person if you want.

David Sklansky has had serious health problems and has been in and out of the hospital several times the past couple of weeks. I believe what happened is that he should have gone into the hospital again but refused and was very upset about going back in, and thus the police were called. I don't know what happened then, and I wasn't there.
It's my opinion that David still being alive was a low probability event, but I do understand that he's doing better.
The photoshops alone would have been worth the price of admission.

So you see that it is probably not neccessary for me to do anythig illegal to make sure you get what you deserve. HOWEVER it is important to understand that you might be in such jeapardy without my knowledge. For instance you know I have young friends, who have friends, who have friends who do nasty things at the blink of an eye. Drive by shootings etc. To do something like throw some paint on a good dress would be nothing to them. If I ever told my friends that your obsession with your looks means that you would be appalled if that happened to you once, let alone a dozen times, they might do that behind my back just to please me. Asking nothing in return They might even think I'd like it better if it was acid rather than paint since that would mean people would say "guess you can't talk about Sue now". I would never want them to to do that but you never know about those guys.
The reason I am telling you this is not because there is something you could do to change things. There is nothing you can do either for me or to me. No, the reason I am telling you is because the anticipation of wondering what will happen is at least as bad as the act itself. You proved that to me when you put me through the anguish of worrying about Sue. Basically the only option available is to leave the poker world forever. Ply your trade elsewhere. Suicide wouldn't be a bad option either. If you do that I will promise to stop badmouthing you.

I'm almost 50 and some years on this forum, never heard for/saw this email. The sexual part of this email is for sure somewhat creepy for the recipient end of the email, for the rest it might raise eyebrows, but the threat- and go-kill-yourself-part of the email is disgusting and unforgivable. Normally the older we male humans get and the less testosterone kicks in, the better we become, but seems like this is not at everyone the case.
On the other side, only because someone wrote good books about Poker and was good playing it at some point doesn't make him a good person. Don't wish DS any harm and if he's as sick as MM states, I'd wish him all the best and strength, but he should use his remaining time to review himself and make up for bad things done where still possible!

That email was extreme and I'm not excusing it, but might you consider what behavior might have precipitated such a response and the pressure put on David to write that?

You don’t need to imagine. There are people who post here who not only associate with him, they come on here and defend him.
