You're in town for the Superb Owl. Who do you like. Don't bet nearly as high as you. But got some early futures on the Patriots to win AFC and SB. Not looking to hedge in fact I added on Patriots +5.5.
Could be a 2.5K payday if Patriots win outright.

I’m afraid we’re on opposite sides.
I figured out a new way to avoid declaring currency at customs lol. I made these bets at the end of my last trip so have some tickets to cash which will hopefully include the Seahawks at +350 and +375 on Sunday.
At the current numbers it’s hard to pick a side. With the line being available for two weeks and all information known, the Super Bowl line is one of the most efficient of the whole year.
With two very good defenses it’s hard for me to envisage a lot of points so I bet a little on Under 46.
On the spread and money line I could only take the Patriots at current numbers.
My prediction (May look silly come Sunday but here goes)

Day Two - Monday February 2nd
First time I’ve been on this side of the Excalibur. View from my room of the pool area and Allegiant Stadium in the background.
After checking out I headed to what has become one of my go-tos for a late breakfast / early lunch.
Then onto the Flamingo where diamond status has its perks. VIP check-in, no early check-in fee, and a strip view, I think for the first time ever.
It’s an absolutely beautiful day today. Happy to say the frigid temperatures of early January seem to be long gone. The sun is out, clear blue skies and the temperature is in the low 70’s.
Today’s satellite is in the Aria poker room, rather than the PokerGO studio.
The structure is the same as the $5k will be, only with shorter 25 minute levels so it makes for good practice.
I half the 150k starting stack early but recover to sit on just over 200k at the end of late reg.
I really don’t like these Aria tournament chips. They’re on the lighter side and very slippy.
We’re playing for 7 seats.
I increase to 300k but then had a cunning plan. I dont want to use all the run good up today so proceed to lose with JJ < QQ in limit hold’em on an all low-cards board and then we lost a huge 4-way Stud 8 pot that must have had 400k in it.
On 6th we had the best hand with QQ and a low draw against 66 and a low draw, the 3rd player had no pair and a flush draw, and the 4th player who was short was all-in with JJ and broadway cards.
Of course we brick and the 66 makes two pair to scoop the monster pot.
After that our table broke and I bricked two 2457 draws in 2-7 on my new table and that was that.
No $80 Mix cash game today as most of the regulars were playing the satellite so opted for an early night to be fresh for tomorrow.
On Deck Tomorrow: $5,100 HORSE

Day Three - Tuesday February 3rd
So the early night last night with the goal of being fully rested and 100% for today went a little awry. I had a slice of pizza before I left Aria and it made me sick as a dog. I was up all night going to the bathroom. Was not pleasant and still feel a little rough this morning.
Nevertheless we head over to the Poker Go Studio.

I really like how they do it here. If you arrive on time you get a rake reduction. So it only costs us $5,100 instead of $5,300 if you come late or re-enter.
That results in there being 67 players seated when the cards go in the air.
Notables in the field include Ryan Hoenig, Jeff Madsen, Eli Elezra - and that’s just my table lol, zero easy tables in these events.

Josh Arieh joins our table. I’ve played with Jeff and Ryan a lot, and Eli some, but this is my first time playing with Josh.
Win a big 3-way Stud 8 pot staring with rolled-up sixes and improve to a full house which beats Josh’s flush and no-one makes a low.
In Level 8 I get moved tables to balance. Now on a table with Jeremy Ausmus and Crazy Mike. We don’t last long there before the whole table breaks. It was just long enough to win a Razz pot from Ausmus though. Our 7-5 good against his 7-6. Maybe we’ll be on All-In with Ausmus?
New table is Table 4, with Josh Arieh on his 2nd bullet, Pads Leonard, Mark G and E-Tay.
End of Level 8: 320,000 (Had 400 but ran into rolled up 555 last hand of level in Stud)
A not too shabby $128k up top! (Paying 15 spots)
Josh Arieh high-carded off to open a new table for the max late-reg guys and is replaced by Jeremy Ausmus on his 2nd bullet.

Scooped a nice 3-way pot against Pads and Mark G with a straight 6 in Stud 8

I 3-bet a Pads open with 99 in Holdem but have to fold when he check-raises the KQ4 flop. Mistake here by me. Should really have checked behind. Pads is very tricky and aggressive. First time playing with him and getting to know his game now a bit.
Level 13: 25,000 - 50,000
Won a nice Razz pot vs Pads. His board showed A246. I took my time, using a time extension and made the call on the end with a 7-5 which was good against his 7-6.
Lose a big Stud pot vs E-Tay. AAJJ < TTT
Last 4 tables now. 28 players remaining.
Lose huge Stud 8 pot. 6-4 low no good against Pads wheel and 3rd player had a flush to chop me up.
Down to only 400k now which is not much at these limits.
Level 14: 30k - 60k limits
Last 3 tables now. 21 players remaining. 6 to go to the money.
Lose a Holdem pot with KQ, flop is JT3 no help turn or river. Down to only 300k now and going in the wrong direction.
Level 15: 40,000 - 80,000 limits. Still 21 players remaining.

Quintuple up my 55k in O8 all-in pre with AA78 and amazingly scoop the main pot on a A72Q3 when no-one has a low.
I then get moved tables to balance. Playing Razz at new table with 20k antes.
New table includes Jesse Lonis, Alex Livingston, Brian Rast and Phil Hui.

I put my last chips in starting 347 in Stud 8 and can only make a pair of sevens which loses to Alex’s two pair.
Mixed feelings. At the end of level 11 I was in good shape but then started going backwards and really had to grind my ass off to survive a very prolonged pre-bubble and bubble period. When I was short I couldn’t pick up any hands and had to leave myself only 55,000 which was less than one small bet. It proved to be the correct decision as I was rewarded with 5x’ing it in Omaha 8 before getting no hands again and ante’ing away to scrape into the money.
Some min-cashes are better than others.

When dealing with the stock market where you sell a stock at a profit only to see the price per share continue to move up afterward, and that is "Never feel bad about taking a profit." Same thinking applies to a min cash. Congrats!

Day Four - Wednesday February 4th
Another beautiful day as we make our way to Aria.
And back inside the PokerGo studio for today’s eight game tournament.
My opening table today includes Maxx Coleman, E-Tay, Justin Saliba and Maxim Pisarenko.
The draw for the game results in us starting on PLO and we will play the eight games in the following order:

What a difference a day makes. I literally did not win a hand, or even fold any hands that would have been winners. Busto in level 6. Some days there’s just nothing you can do.
So over to the B I go, but the $80 Mix is full with a list. I hang around for a while before I come up with an idea and head here:

After a goal-less first period the game sprang to life in the second period with four goals in three minutes and the Golden Knights ran out comfortable 5-2 winners.
I really enjoyed it. I think it’s one of those sports that’s way better to watch live in the arena rather than on TV. There’s something about the sound of puck on stick and the players slamming against the glass.
After the game I’m happy to find that the $80 Mix is still running and there’s open seats.
I play for 4 hours before the game breaks at 2am. I lose a big pot in Drawmaha 2-7 with an 8 low and a straight on board, beaten by a 7 low and a flush. We do recoup a short while later in Badacey making a 6-6 to win a nice pot.
In for $6,000, out for $7,400 and a +$1,400 profit.
Not sure how much of your action you’ve got in the big tourneys but…even if you didn’t make it a winning day, it’s a nice comeback!
Totally agree hockey is way better live than on TV.
Odd question: when you bet, sometimes you pay the juice up front so you get paid a whole dollar amount, and sometimes you don't. Is there a reason for that?

Good question. Most of the kiosks have a risk $500 max bet limit. So anytime I’m betting $500 with juice you know I placed it at a kiosk.
If it was a bet I was more serious about I’d have gone to the counter and paid the $575 at -115 to win $500.
Or sometimes if they’re live bets kiosks are quicker and I’m just shoving $100 bills in like a madman and making as many $300 - $400 bets as I can before the line changes lol! [emoji23]
