I Can't Believe It's Another Game of Thrones Show!: "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms"
Not started the show yet, but read the book, in part because of this BookTuber's glowing review.
She's started shortish videos comparing each episode with the book.
Most kid actors suck but the squire is pretty good. Love the smartass questions and replies. LOL.
The show is good but it's too short and it could use more action, but I guess that's coming in the next episode.
repeat review for ep 2 ^
a few quibbles here and there, but mostly pretty good. seems like dunc will be jousting next week*, so business should be picking up
* though maybe i shouldn't make assumptions like this given how hotd teased a civil war for all of s2 lol**
** tho that was hbo's fault for cutting eps 9&10
Dumps and pissing.
show is delivering!
Show kind of reminds me of Firefly.
Has like a western feel to it.
Episode 3 delivered. From the song about Alice to the ending which I didn’t see coming. Great episode.
Yes it was good, but it also could have just been the second part of episode 2.
5/10
Yeah I thought that was a 9/10 tv episode.
Great small stuff and then the big reveal finish. Look at him go ordering those dudes around.
And uh quite the witch moment that apparently gets glossed over! I love the focus going straight back into something else.
Ep4 dropped early today!
These episodes have been one big cock tease after another, but I'm happy to let this one slide since that was one hell of a cliff hanger.
"The Hedge Knight" book is a novella of about 30,000 words. A Songs of Fire and Ice are novels with about 10 times as many words in each book compared to The Hedge Knight.
I am fine with The Hedge Knight being a shorter number of episodes, as well as, length and scope. My main issue is the filler material in the show that is not in the books. The good is expanding on a character like Lyonel Baratheon, the "Laughing Storm." But, the absolutely, positively dumb crap is the crap. Adding projectile crap out of a human in one episode and full front dong in another episode and then horse crap in another episode as filler tell me the show runners are infantile. The story is good enough without the crap.
I know alt shift x has said this but I got the point when these events happened which is they are purposefully meant to let you know not the take the show as seriously as GOT.
ep4 was great. show seems to be improving every time out, and i don't see that stopping in 5 & 6

yeah, agreed. i don't think that stuff adds anything. if you want more comedy, write some good in-world comedy. they've shown the ability at times in the asoiaf serieses, ok maybe it isn't the easiest, but redouble your efforts and/or hire the writers who know how to do that
****ing incredible
rip gus fring :(
That battle was peak got quality.
GRR Martin's "The Hedge Knight" novella worked great in this six episode, 30 minute format. It was tight enough to almost follow a movie or play with acts for exposition, complication and resolution.
After this amazing battle episode, I thought to myself that when the season is all over, I might go back and binge watch the whole season like a 3 hour movie. But, then I thought to myself that I have no interest in re-watching crapping, pissing and farting (all of which is not in the novella). When I was out with some friends last night and The Hedge Knight came up, without any comment from me, someone else said the same thing that they would go back and watch the whole thing over again from the beginning if not for the crapping, pissing and farting.
They almost filmed a 3 hour masterpiece.
you know you can skip over parts you don't want to watch
I enjoy the crapping, pissing, farting!
Which episode had the fortune / future teller tell the young squire his future? I want to watch that one again.
ep 2 or 3. i think 3, since that's the one about aeg, and he's barely in 2. gotta be 3

Yes, episode three. About 2/3rds of the way through episode so about 20 minutes into show after Egg's brother kills the horse in the joust, then it goes to Dunk and Egg in Ser Lynionel's tent with a song about Alice. Afterwards as Dunk and Egg leave the tent they encounter the fortune teller.
HOTD back in June. Teaser comes out tomorrow.
