Why obvs?
It's pretty damning for the NFL that a Brit can rock up and coach a bunch of Yanks how to play their national sport.

He's been coaching there for more than 10 years, played and coached (including in the UK/Europe) another decade more than that before.
Loads of people do care about it though obv it isn't as widespread as football.
And it's damning for English managers that not one of them has managed to win the English league.

Firstly, football didn’t start with the PL. Plenty of English managers have won the English title, including the last season before the formation of the PL.
Then Fergie happened and then the PL exploded into the superior league in Europe, attracting not just foreign players, but managers too.
I don’t see it as damning, more of a symptom of having the biggest league in Europe and the pinnacle for managers around the world.
I see it as damning for English management ability (at least in the last 1.5 full generations) that no English manager has won the Premier League, not for the league itself - when was the last English manager to win the English title? It was 1992.
When was the last English manager to win *any* major league title? Pretty sure it's still 1992 but not positive on that. I guess McLaren won the Dutch league if that counts about 15 years ago?
I think it’s more that English players don’t need to be managers anymore and the ones that do seem to think they have the divine right to start at the top because money.
You get the odd outlier who give it a go like Lampard, but they are rare.

He did it with Fc Twente in a year where Luis Suarez scored 30+ goals for Ajax. That should def count.
Meh, I don't see Arsenal dropping many points at all going forward, and City aren't exactly pulling up trees.

Agreed tbh. This is the time Arsenal fans usually get worried and Arsenal starts throwing it away but this team feels different and hope they prove me right. As long as Gabriel stays healthy, we're winning it all.
I cannot believe I have to want Man Utd to beat West Ham even though it means that bloke will be able to get his hair cut.
We need them to get one point before we play the Pigs to have a chance of relegating them in the derby. That does not help

God knows where we go from here, but Ze Derbi is available and seems a no-brainer given where we are in the season.

He impressed me, the way he transformed Tottenham into a more expensively assembled version of Brentford, but not as good.
It is good to have had a relatively **** season and still feel like you've got something to play for after last season's total nightmare.
At the same time the only thing we have to play for is to hope that we have a chance to mathematically relegate Wednesday, with anything to seriously play for being dead even before Selles was sacked

Why would he? He tanked at Spurs and the set piece coach is doing better at Brentford despite losing their two best players and captain.
He'll end up at Palace, think he's at least smarter than Ange was and won't jump at the first offer if Nuno or Dyche get binned
