[GGPoker] new Ocean rewards system
Starting next month: [url]Ocean rewards

At first glance: cashback %'s are higher, and it looks like your achieved rank will now be secured for a year.
However, historically speaking, changes on GGPoker have not been in favor of winnings players. Thoughts?

Only question is, will they remove PVI, else it's pointless to be excited about that. Asked support about that.....obv no direct answer. MY PVI is about 0.2-0.3, so 16-24% rakeback if I'd rake >300k in a year

yeah don't count on it.
MY PVI is about 0.2-0.3
same here
Haha, yeah, it really sucks. I'm not a big crusher, winning at 3-4bb/100, thought I could improve my PVI by playing slots - which I love when drunk. In short, nope, no effect dusting money there. I think they use their data from PokerCraft. Win before rake, how dare you, let's give you nothing.
Actually quite interesting, that it's rather top-heavy in regards to improvements. Lower tiers almost get next to nothing. They are basically making lipstick on a pig by trying to lure the very player-type into it which gets punished by PVI later down the road.
i do like that i don't have monthly FP requirements but instead have a year to move up
True, but in case you didn't saw, look at my post in another thread:

GG sells it as an increase in rakeback, but reality is, that it is a decrease for a lot of players and tied to unrealistic time-frames. Noone will save up his GEMs for years to get the advertised rakeback and doing so includes the risk of getting nothing. Terms of the "promotion":
- GGPoker reserves all rights regarding the issuance, usage, and available rewards for GEMs, including the right to modify or remove them without notice.
- GEMs constitute promotional currency and do not have a fixed monetary value until a player successfully completes a conversion.
The 2nd quoted point is actually quite smart from a business-point of view as like that they are not obligated to reserve funds for unpaid GEMs. In other words, GG may gamble with your potential rakeback in the big casino of stocks and investments and if things go south, well, sry dude, we set your GEMs-balance to zero and all good.
....and what I still "like" the most about GG:
- Poker: Earned at a rate of 100 TP for every $1 in rake generated
Why I need then to rake 3.70$ to get 100TP?! No word about PVI.
GG has the worst conditions for regulars. They have very high rake + preflop rake + PVI and now they have made the rake back system worse. "Fish buffet" was better than "Ocean rewards". Actually, the first one didn't have good conditions either, but they made it worse.

If you're in the netherlands, it's onlt 70 TP for every $1 in rake. But I think this is because they have to pay taxes on our rake, while all player winnings are tax free.
But even with a low PVI and a relatively low Ocean rank I'm averaging around 21% actual rakeback. It's not great but if you have a positive winrate pre-rakeback it's not bad either.
Note that only a small part of that 21% is the ocean rewards. Looking at January, around 50% is coming from leaderboards, around 30% from flipouts and only around 20% from what used to be fish buffet (I did not make any top5 leaderboards).

Specifically for micro stakes, a 3bb rake cap is better than most sites. Other sites often have for instance a $1 rake cap also for NL10 etc. But if you play 200 and up a 2 or 3bb cap is a lot

Only for rnc tables. Regular tables has way higher caps!
oh big rake difference for NL holdem I see
