Another one I've never heard of. But I see cry and I think tear.

Though it's "No cry," I imagine there is crying in the movie.

No Woman, No Cry is a song by Bob Marley. It’s also advice Erin gives herself in The Office.

Most important takeaway: We need to rand from the 400 word list, not the 800 word list.

Trying to clue for these difficult of words with just title clues is ridiculous. My list would have been hard in a normal codenames game, but it was made much more difficult in this variant.

Words like tear and tablet and dryer are not the kind we need in this variant

I still like the potential of this variant, but with the easier word list and also need to consider songs more often; focusing too much on just movies so far. This round was just super painful with this list.

here were my exact notes:

turn 1:
virus - known red
smuggler - known neutral
net

turn 2:
tiger - known red

turn 3:
tablet - known red
sugar - known blue
army - known neutral

turn 4:
bicycle - known red
dryer - known red

net only thing unknown so should guess it with n-1

pad was assassin and tablet was ours, so I was going for pill definition of tablet.

I thought it would hit Contagion pretty hard, but even after Prozac Nation and you knew tablet was ours, you still weren't thinking it was a Contagion word. Tablet just a sucky word to have on the list in this variant.

I really wanted to clue Matrix - 3 to start the game for tablet (red/blue pills), net, virus but they had tank on their list and Tank is one of the main 6 or so characters.

for tear, I thought with the depression angle for Prozac Nation that you would list it there, but no such luck

I figured with Serendipity you may go skyscraper if you knew it, but at that point I wanted to guarantee at least one word (luck), so something like Forrest Gump or similar seemed riskier

yeah if ya'll hadn't bolded army so fast then you probably end up with tank at top of list if army is wrong and then his iceland - unlimited is straightforward top 2 of list

I still am not sure which words were for which clues in the middle there.

Finding Dory I assume was for tank; they spend about half the movie in fish tanks (the marine center then in semi-truck trailers) so I figured that's why he chose that one over Nemo

Saving Private Ryan for Tank above Army though? Fury or Lebanon would make more sense, but I guess you can't be sure we know them

That's just me not being too familiar with the movie I guess. I saw it once and clearly didn't take much of it in. I do remember the start of Nemo in the dentist's office fish tank well.

So there were 4 dory words or did we get one of them by pure luck that's not in the movie.

I think the major flaw in this variant is not knowing what your team know. If you haven't seen a movie or misremember it then you're in trouble.

Regular codenames it's just relying on others knowing the meaning of words.

Army being neutral with a SPR - 1 clue was a clear indicator of how ****ing bonkers this variant is.

Nemo starts off as one of the deadliest start to any movie; 399 deaths in the first minute
