Standard Shove with Bottom Set and Flush Draw as PFR? 5.3 SPR

Live 1-2

UTG pro straddles 10
EP random (looks like a fish) calls 10 (1k stack)
MP Euro pro calls 10 (1.5k stack)
HJ [Hero] raises to 55 with 6h 6c 3h 3c (1.5k stack)
CO nit folds
BTN nit folds
SB nit folds
BB Euro pro folds
(Yes, it's a very bad game!)
UTG folds
Rando calls 55
Euro pro calls 55

Pot 178

Flop Kh 7h 3s

Random (fish?) checks
Euro pro checks
Hero bets 100
Random (fish?) raises to 480
Euro pro folds
Hero shoves for 945

Is there anything else I can do in this hand? Is folding to the fish's check-pot an option at live low-stakes PLO? What if I wasn't the pre-flop raiser?

Fold pre?

wp

Some fishes are so passive that they only bet/raise with nuts only.

Some fishes are so aggro they get it in with random draws 2pairs.

You like bottom set, bad flushes, and non nut oesd? This hand plays terribly multi way and you already have 2 limpers and a straddle.

Folding > raising > limping?

Well, shoving is certainly better than calling!

FWIW
You’re about
64% v Ah5h4s2s
54% v Kc7c9h8h
6% v 7s7c9h8h

Ship and wp. Note though how poorly your hand plays in such games. Fold or limp pre perhaps.

Conventional PLO strategy wants us to get aggressive with two-pair starting hands pre. I've never been a big fan of this. I only raised pre because it was double-suited and semi-connected.

If I had a hand like Ah Qh 3h 3c, I think I'm supposed to fold to his check-pot on the flop. I would be blocking the nut-flush draw and KQxx rundowns that people like to get aggressive with. So he's left with A TON of ragged KKxx hands that limp-call pre.

pretty sure a solver doesn't pure fold this exact 2 pair ds combo, if I had to guess it's a 30-40% open mix at this depth

folding this live is why most 2 card regs look dead inside, live a little

I’m always folding this hand except maybe a limp in co or btn. Limp to limp fold to large raise.

This made me LOL

This is a very high level 3b at deep stack depth and solvers approved.

Double pair double suited connected hands are 3b very much at deep stack depths and play well postflop.

Great job finding it and understanding this.

The argument against is whether or not it’s necessary in live games where people don’t know theory or fold properly preflop. Like 3b A5 suited in holdem if the opponent is incapable of folding AJo or KQo. This is a very polar 3b and generally we just stick to linear ranges. Good better best.

That said, this is sound.

Folding postflop would be an exploit and dependent on dynamics and game properties. Will you get deep with a big stack if u win, can u rebuy for more or for the same amount or will u have to go back down to 500 and lose your huge hourly being so deep against whales, etc

A silver will never fold this hand postflop tho lol

Thanks for this. I’ve been trying to play less solver-approved and more straightforward in smaller games (i.e. exploitable).

great rant one small problem is that it's not a 3-bet pot
